Does anyone have experience with Ben Glass’s “Great Legal Marketing” programs? https://greatlegalmarketing.com
I ordered a free “starter kit” from his company and received a decent-sized box with some books and audio CD’s. Haven’t listened to the CD’s yet, but the books aren’t bad, with plenty of practical advice.
Now he’s running a promotion where you can get two months of his basic-level course for just $19.95 to cover the cost of shipping. It seems that Ben is one of the better-regarded legal marketing “gurus” out there.

Hello Everyone! Does anyone have a connection at Netflix ! I am an author/marketing associate and truly my dream job is to work on the team that creates/produces Drive to Survive. I am a huge F1 fan! However, I am willing to start where I can and work my way there! I was laid off due to Covid and just trying to get back into the field and industry I love.

You don’t owe them anything. If it’s a better agency - take it.
Go for it.
I’d also like to mention that “real work” is a bit different than portfolio school.
You may or may not make something book worthy at this new place, but the reality is you’re a junior fresh out of school so it might take some time to get some actual good work going again.
For whatever you decide:
If you’re learning, the people around you are smart and making great work, and the agency isn’t working you to death I’d stick around.
Earn the briefs that will help you make book worthy work. Kill the briefs that you get until then. Don’t hop around every 6 months because you haven’t added to your book, that’s a definite way to further complicate things as a junior and make it even less likely you’ll get the briefs you want.
First off, congratulations. :)
Secondly, chances are you're an at-will employee, which means both parties can sever the relationship at any time, without cause … so don't feel like you "owe" them any thing more than an honest day's work. Giving two weeks' notice is standard and as long as you finish out your projects as best you can and give accurate status updates, they have no reason to not give positive reference in the future.
I think they’ll understand it more if you stress that you want to move to SF (maybe say your family or s/o lives there??) vs being unhappy at your current place.
If it’s your dream agency... stop dreaming and go for it.
Definitely take the gig. The industry knows this is how it goes and unless there are unreasonable people at your current agency, they will understand the move. I’d say the fact that you’re even thinking about the repercussions of a short stint at a place is a good sign of how you operate professionally, sadly that’s not always the case.
Congrats on the gig!
2/2 I now have an opportunity at a dream agency in SF, but I don’t want to burn bridges for leaving six months in. What do you all think? Is 6 months too soon? Do I owe my current agency more time? Or should I seize the day and make the move?
Carpe diem. Also ask for buckets of money. SF is worse than nyc.
If there wasn’t a dream opportunity in SF I may say to give it a minute. If you’re actually liking the place, and it’s really just a matter of wanting work for ur book, I personally feel like it took a year to really get things rolling for myself. 🤷🏽♀️
BUUUUUT, I say never pass up a great opportunity so I’d go to SF and ask for the money you would need.
You are not going to burn any bridges if you leave. It’s work, not relationship and everyone understands it. Don’t miss this opportunity just to be loyal to your current agency. Remember that agencies are never loyal to anyone
