I’ve been working at my current job for going on four years now. After COVID I took on a lot of responsibility at work and was given a promotion to senior case manager. I’ve trained several new case managers, took on a lot of responsibilities and I am considered the backbone of my site by my supervisor who works remotely. I’ve tried to ask for a raise on several occasions but I was told that it’s not in the budget every time. What should I do?im 28, should I just take my experience elsewhere?

I’m a SE, and been doing it professionally for around 3 years, no college education or anything, im only 21 and I accepted an offer at a company on november 2021, the offer was for a salary of 116,000 plus a 10-15% yearly bonus. Obviously i have all the other benefits like insurance, after browsing fishbowl I found so many other people doing the same job but getting paid in some cases double than me. so, I am being under paid? or maybe are these especial cases of people making a lot?

A lot of basic skilled labor can be worth learning and can really save you a lot of money. Most contractors in my area are often north of $100/hr for labor. I’ve often found the quality of my work to be better too. I think more folks shouldn’t be scared to get their hands dirty sometimes
