Hi fishes, Need an advice I am getting an opportunity to work as senior consultant at KPMG (KGS) in the Salesforce unit. I have offers from other companies like HCL Technologies , EPAM Systems with similar salary structure.
Just wanted to know about the
1. work culture
2. Salesforce practice
3. annual appraisals
4. job security
If someone already in KPMG , could share their experiences on the above pointers, that would help me in my decision
Thanks in advance.

Most of actual applied data science is not actually data science.
My advice is to find a data science role in a bank. With your experience you come in as an associate with base >50k and probably ~20% bonus.
We've been hiring lots of people with zero banking experience. If it was a few months ago I'd be saying come work for me!
That's really good to know. I've seen jobs advertised as associate and thought its too senior for me cz in my company associate is like one of the highest positions 😆

If you know what you are doing your years of experience in a specific topic shouldn’t matter. Highlight all your transferable skills and experience and let them decide if you fit the role rather than telling yourself that you don’t.
You could also move to a smaller scale or start up where you have the possibility to grow your skill and responsibilities with the company, and getting a job there might be experience. Probs will stay at that salary for now, but in around 2 years will have much better profile (experience in DS and worked in a start up) and can then bake a big jump.
I have been thinking about the smaller tech company the most. A lot of their work sounds v exciting. :)

Have you looked at MBB, tech , startups or even banks? Data science is a super hot topic so if you apply you should be fine.
No need to feel insecure about your background. But you do need to change sector - you‘ll be amazed what a difference it makes to be in a sector with money to spend
