I’ve been working in personal tax ever since joining a public firm. When I look at exit opportunities in industry, all of them required full cycle accounting. I’m interested in going the controller route (grow within a company kinda thing) so I looked at my network and connected with a smaller public accounting firm where I could work as a senior accountant doing reviews and NTRs. Would this experience get me full cycle accounting knowledge?

I received a message on LinkedIn from an internal recruiter at a company that sounded intriguing. Would it be bad form to ask for more information about the role and about comp up front? I wasn’t looking to leave my firm until later next year at the earliest, but the company sounds really interesting. Don’t want to waste a lot of time if the comp isn’t right, though.

I am planning on applying to business school this year in round 1 and round 2. I am in india working at D. The role is definitely a step up in terms of responsibilities from my current role as a senior consultant. Do you think it might hamper my business school application changing jobs so close to round 1? Have been at D for 4 yrs
