I’ve (consultant) delivered one engagement very badly, director was not satisfied with quality and I could admit it.
What do I do ? Do I need start looking for other job?

So I just started a new job (I work in higher Ed) but I would like another stream of income. I am interested in adjunct faculty but I find it so hard to get into and I think it’s because of experience teaching. Does anyone have any tips on how to land an adjunct position?

I have 3 YOE and and MS and I’m noticing that many managers and people who have 10+ yoe are very behind when it comes to their data technologies specifically, lacking in Python and cloud . Why is this with data being such a fast moving field why aren’t this people riding to the occasion of learning? Most of them just stick to SQL and excel 😅

I’ve worked for many companies involving creative traditional/digital artwork, but my last job threw my health under the bus, so now my current has very little creative work and work with databases..

Those of you Director/ VP level HR folks, what exactly do you do in terms of “strategic” HR? I earned my Director wings 1 year ago. Anyone work in IT Global Trade Advisory group? I'm 1.5 years in and considering an internal transfer from BTS Core and wondering if it's worth it. After talking to their SM, it seems like an interesting type of work with less hours and no busy seasons. Allegedly, it has nothing to do with taxes either.

We are still waiting for our refund for 1040 efiled in March (still pending per where's my refund) but now realized we're not going to get the monthly child tax credit payments because "Your eligibility is pending." We qualify using 2019 or 2020 amounts (stay at home spouse).

We don't need it early, but have to imagine that countless others are in our situation but don't have the luxury of waiting. I've called IRS at least a dozen times since but never get through to an actual person.

Would you reset asset life if transferred to a new company? Say you are 8 years into a 39 year building. Would you reset the depreciable life when that asset is transferred to you?

This is a great strategy even before the understaffing issues in PA, but being mediocre or just above average so you don’t burn out from PA seems like the ultimate strategy right now. If you can wait it out then you pretty much just move up by default since people are leaving or not even going into to the profession. You’ll eventually be a partner unless your firm sells to private equity.
