Is it normal to struggle with the transition to starting your first legal job? I did all the things - graduated law school, passed the bar, started at the big law firm that gave me my SA offer 2 years ago… Now, I’m feeling miserable. It’s only been 2 weeks and I’m not particularly enjoying work. I was totally burnt out on law school at the end and it was a struggle to finish. I figured I was just “over” the law school grind. I was a top performer in RA and then I was referred to RP by my manager based on my performance.

Now I've had a manager change in last month.
He doesn't know much, and hasn't taken my feedback from previous managers.

I've less than 1 month remaining in my contract... I am really worried, he keeps delaying it.
Will I be converted into FT?

I lateraled after two years of bad reviews and failing to be promoted to the next class year at the firm I summered at. When I lateraled, I was brought on at the class year that matched my graduation year but was unsure if I had what it took to be a biglaw attorney. I had my annual review yesterday and was promoted (and received nothing but positive feedback). Sometimes it isn't you.
