Currently working as a Relationship Banker. Haven’t had no complaints with how Chase has handled the pandemic from the consumer banking side. Recently I was asked if I was interested in a Financial solutions advisor role at Bank of America. Things have slowly began to pick up at our branch and while I would like to continue my career at Chase. The bump in base salary increases as well as the earning potential. Any advice on how to make a decision? Things to consider besides pay?

Why do staffers/MD’s ask me “how many deals have you done in x sector”? I get that it’s to get a quick idea of whether I have exposure to a sector and how much, but I once had a bad experience with an MD who specifically asked me every few months “how many models have you built in your career” and now this attempt at quantification just bugs me. Why would the number of models or deals matter so much at associate level ?

Do you explain the "why" as in-house or do you just give the answer? IMO the why teaches internal teams to ask "better” questions and might train them to call some of the shots. Then again, I’m scared the "why" just comes off as soap-boxing and I’m becoming the legal windbag stereotype.

Being an extreme high performer when I ask for opportunities I am told I need to wait and I hear suggestions that I am over ambitious however few male colleagues of mine in similar position without doing anything get all the opportunities passed over . I’m an hourly manager at a restaurant. I was hired almost 4years ago for salary. My boss has put my salary training off and blames me for it. I have open availability and corporate has told him to get my training started. 6 months later and still no training has been started. How can I further my career with my district manager blocking the way and no real backing from corporate?

My plan is to send her a short email, giving some background about myself and let her know I want to connect to introduce myself. During the meeting, I plan to discuss my key projects, ask about her vision and how I can help her/which initiatives could participate. I’m up for Sr Mgr promotion and making a good impression is critical. Any tips? anything else I should prep?
I would say DON roles, or even Regional Nursing Directors for home care companies is an option.
