Yes

July is also very far off. The promotion is now. Take it.

If you're really interested in staying, take your offer to your current firm and ask them to match it now as a midyear promotion.

I was in PwC Advisory before moving to FTI - you go to your partner/MD with the outside offer and say a recruiter reached out to you, you let it play out and received an offer that you're considering. You would prefer to stay at PwC, and you want them to make a counter offer. If you are actually up for promotion this cycle, they will counter. Two former PwC Advisory folk who were on my team at PwC (and are now on my team at FTI) did this and both got counter offers. They did decide to leave anyway because PwC couldn't match the offer 100%, in large part due to the cohort model, and because they were looking for a culture change. In all likelihood, they can't increase your salary 40% if you're in Advisory, even if you get a midyear promotion, but they might be able to get close. Feel free to DM me if you want to talk about what PwC Advisory pay looks like at different levels.

So you’re coming to EY. I’m assuming senior consultant

If it's EY, and 40% higher pay, do it. I joined EY from another B4 and 3 years in, I am still very happy with my decision

Thanks for the perspective. It definitely helps!! Glad to hear you’re happy with your decision. I hope mine will be the same!

If it’s EY do it, unlimited PTO news is blown out of proportion.

Was hoping to hear that. Thanks EY3

For those of you who left big 4 for industry - I’m seeing a lot of people saying they got 30% + raises when leaving. How did you find these jobs willing to pay that much more? Looking to leave at the M1 level and having trouble finding anything with much more than a 10-15% increase in base comp. from my current salary. Would it be dumb to leave for that low of a percentage increase? Some are offering equity in addition to the base comp. but hard to put a specific value to that now.

I’ve been promised a promotion. The discussion started many months ago before Covid. When the pandemic hit, I stepped up & worked insanely hard, above my level—it’s been praised and recognized, but not rewarded. I was told the promotion will be delayed for reasons not to do with me. Am I going to get strung along? Should I start looking? Can I ask for more money when it does come? I believe I deserve a lot more money, but I’m afraid of sounding greedy or entitled, especially during a pandemic.
