Hi all....just checkng if I am at the avg salary band or lesser for my exp. I have 15 yoe in Support and IT operations with 24 LPA package. Can this be considered avg for the yoe. The reason am asking is many companies that i have applied for have a much lesser salary budget? I was contacted by an Amazon recruiter for a remote Sr. Program Manager role. I took and passed the assessment and was moved to the hiring manager round which was scheduled for tomorrow. I got an email tonight saying that the Director of the group decided that the person must be in Seattle. I am in Austin, which is not an option. I’m disappointed! The recruiter will let me know if any remote roles come up but in the mean time, does anyone have any remote Amazon roles that they’d refer me to?

I would recommend a more structured application approach. Pick 2 or 3 job titles and tailor your resume to those positions and keywords for each.
When interviewing, lead with enthusiasm and instead of summarizing your resume I would recommend discussing what you are doing now. Do research on their current goals and organizational direction and write out how your experience will apply to the company you are interviewing with.
Don’t focus on selling your past experiences but your future.

Take comfort in that you are not alone here, I have been dealing with a similar situation and I am sure many others have too. The job market is oversaturated with candidates and the competition is fierce! Companies are utilizing more structured interviewing tactics, recruiting has turned into a numbers game, and all you can do is keep at it and know that eventually you will find your fit and all things will align. Work on your STAR examples, develop your storytelling, and just remember that you have a single phone call to make that impression that you are the best candidate for the role you applied for.
