I’ve got about seven years of experience as an AE in the tech and finance space. I think I’m ready for for a jump into the Senior AE realm. What is a reasonable expectation for comp at a Saas company? According to Glassdoor it seems I could expect anywhere from120k-160k base and 180k-225k ote.
Is that in the ballpark or am I wildly off?

For a senior AE in SaaS, I'd expect a similar to lower base but depending on the company I'd say you could go WAY higher from a commission standpoint.

Hope it goes well for you OP, good luck

Seconding T1 above. It really depends on where you land, but those estimates aren't totally off the mark. Just be aware that it might be lower for startups and higher for big brands. Good luck!

Curious, but why isn’t tax calculated inside TC? The money you are forced to pay to the IRS isn’t compensation since you can’t use it. TC should be the amount you actually get to keep as compensation for your work. An extreme example would be if someone had a 100% tax rate for some mysterious reason. Would they be able to claim 150K TC even though they take home $0.00 a month?

I recently interviewed with Natwest and I got confirmation that they wanted to offer a role. Salary negotiations were started. However, now I got an email from the hiring manager that hiring for my role has been paused due to the ongoing cost of living crisis. He expects to resume the hiring for the role in Q1 '23 and would resume the process then. So is it the end? Honestly, I don't expect him to come back. But what do you think?

Is it a good move? Currently in the industry as senior financial analyst, $120 base + 10% bonus + stock option (but the company is not public yet). Got an offer from A&M for associate (yes, down-leveled) $100K base + ?? Bonus. I heard associate TC average to $150K last year, and if I can make senior next year, TC average to $210K. I haven’t really thought about what I wanted to do long term. I tried industry for half a year it wasn’t really my thing, so I’m going back the client serving for now.

Over the last three years my mfg company has had a lot of people leave and each time I take on the extra responsibility - from admin, payroll, benefits, compliance, safety, inventory and shipping. I literally do it all. And not only that, but I’ve eliminated and optimized a lot of wasteful processes in order to get it all done. I thought that it would all come with eventual pay increases since it saves the company over 300k in overhead. This whole time I should have been OE. I feel like a fool.

My quota is based on invoiced sales that resets quarterly. This includes a sliding-scale commission % based on how far you’re at on your quarterly goal (towards quota) which is checked/paid once a month. The only thing that goes toward our quota is PAID sales. This excludes orders still being processed by DE (largest orders) and customers still within NET payment terms. We don’t get paid until the company gets paid. Am I missing warning potential? Am I being expected of A and judged on B?

They only have 1 sales person at the moment and I would be 2nd and they are hiring for 3 more. I’ve always been on a 50:50 model and never done the % of revenue. Average deal size is 40k. I got 12 yoe in enterprise tech sales. No stock options upfront but potentially after the first 3 months. Good deal?
