I’ve gotten asked how I deal with feedback in two different interviews recently. Anyone have an idea of what a good answer would be? I panicked and said something about paying close attention to redlines and proactively attempting to improve my legal writing but I’m not sure that’s what they’re looking for.

Just BS about how you like feedback because it helps you grow and you feel like it’s a necessary part of the job.

“I think I handle feedback and criticism well and feel like it’s a necessary part of the job. I really appreciate getting feedback as it both helps me understand expectations and allows me to grow as an attorney. I often seek out feedback when it’s not provided or run my own redlines to compare final drafts to my initial work product. This helps me avoid making the same mistake twice. I’ve also found that it’s really helpful to see how others craft arguments or deal with difficult facts. I’ve been lucky to work with a few people that are great about providing feedback, which is part of why I feel like I have really developed my legal skills in my time at the firm.”

A recruiter reached out to me about a semi-remote position with a pay range from $165-225k for 1,700 hours, “no real floor.” I make $350k plus equity now, between in-house and my own clients, plus equity, and have a chance to make $100- 200k more in the next year. I told them my current comp up front, recruiter still scheduled the interview, but I feel like I’m wasting everyones time. Its a neat firm and position would be of interest to me, but also not 100% fit. Should I even interview?

Does anyone have any experience with leaving Google then attempting to rejoin after 1 or 2 years? I read online that is mostly about your manager's feedback upon your leave, and that you could sometimes be easily accepted again and sometimes without an interview.

I am particularly concerned as I would only be working for a year and I don't know if that's enough time to get a good enough feedback.

P.s I am starting next month, but I know I might need to leave after a year for a family matter.

Junior here. I was just ghosted on a deal by another junior who was supposed to split the workload. I do not want to work with this person in the future, but I don’t want to ruin any relationships. How do I go about asking the partners not to staff us together anymore in the future without throwing them under the bus or seeming like a bad team player?

I will be doing more interesting work, in a smaller group where partners seem to care about my growth. God I hope this is a right move.. any advice would be much appreciated.
