I've gotten at least 3 'final reminders' from HR to complete the Self ID survey. Can't help but feel it's because of my last name...sorry, not gonna be a diversity box for you to check.

Not a good way to look at the Self ID survey. I have the most generic name and I also received 3-4 emails. Just do it for reporting purposes, so the company can see where they're lacking in diversity.

like

They send reminders to everyone. Just do it, it takes like 2 seconds

like

Aww OP wanted to feel like a special butterfly but the truth is nobody gives a shit about your ethnicity except for you.

like

If I wasn't a white female it'd probably be acceptable for me to say that it seems like OPs genetic insecurity is what's driving this pettiness. But I guess I can't, do I have anyone out there with the right credentials to relay this message for me? Thanks

like

Oh my god, just fill it out. Everyone is likely receiving the same reminders.

like

I don't understand your opposition, but I can't understand anyone anyway because I'm blinded by my white male privilege.

like

They absolutely do target specific people. I worked in HR and we can't make people check a box but we will bombard people to fill it out if it helps our metrics. What kills them is if you checked mixed/other since it doesn't count towards diversity metrics.

like

But that's just my white privilege speaking...

like

This mentality is strange to me in a company where diversity is obviously supported. Im a white male but I also have a disability that you would never know about unless I told you. Was really happy I got to identify as being disabled

like

Yeah OP you sound real stupid. Grow up

like

I'm a minority btw

Nah - I did it.... just go for it. My last name, first name, and entire ethnic makeup is zero percent remarkable. The survey is there to see how we are measuring to our commitments... ethnic, gender, veterans etc.

I filled it out as soon as I got it and I'm STILL getting the dang reminders too. Sorry you aren't special!

This survey is required by the EEOC. They are required to try to get everyone to reply. If you refuse to respond, they are allowed to guess about your race and gender. https://www.eeoc.gov/employers/eeo1survey/faq.cfm

I'm pretty sure everyone got that email. If someone told you they didn't they probably didn't read thru it and just thought it's another stupid announcement email.

Clicked the link for single sign on and receiving an error. Anyone else experiencing the same?

So let me get this straight. The company hired you and (I assume) you are a minority, but you don't want them to show metrics that they are diverse?

Honest question, why would you not want to identify? It's obvious though that ACN/hr wants to see what the statistics are, but I don't see why that's bad. Assuming you're non white, aren't you curious as well?

Why would I want to identify? Let's be honest, the survey is for the company to feel good about hiring minorities. I refuse to be put on a pedestal just because I was born a certain race.

Wow, the hostility is intense. Try not to cut yourself with all that edge.

Thought: When you see diversity of skin color as the most critical factor you miss out of diversity of experience and ideas. Quite often these overlap, but there are a lot of people out there like JD Vance who come from poor white roots, but because of their skin color they’re assumed to have some magical privilege bestowed upon them by society. Likewise, wealthy people of color are lumped in with their less affluent counterparts. We’re so quick to look at skin color and see the sum (cont’d)

Quick vent: I really hate when people aren’t inclusive! I invite my roommate out all the time with my friends and we have a great time. I haven’t received a single invite back.
