I've gotten lazy this week. How do yall get back on the path and get motivated to get it done?

Put together a vision board of what you want this year and in the next 5. (doesn’t have to be only $). Write down 3 actions you can take to help drive you closer. Press your start button and go! 🙌🏻

I really like this idea. I've been toying with creating a mind map version of a vision board, but have only really started. I'll put more effort into it. Thanks for the suggestion.

Organization and executing on goals for the week. You need to set a plan and set small goals each day

That is part of my problem. I plan for the week, make a To-Do list, and then get side tracked by the first issue that arrives not in that plan. Thanks for the suggestion.

Podcasts from people in my field or desired area that are father along than I am. Makes me feel like I have to catch up

Yeah, I've started listening to more podcasts to get jazzed. Thanks for the suggestion.

Honestly man. Keeping a job should be motivating enough. I agree with the vision board for sure, but my mentor says you need small goals along the way. Let’s say you got your metric goal this week, take your girl out to dinner or get icecream. You can have a negative goal as well, maybe no Netflix, video gaming, or maybe no TV this weekend if you don’t hit your goal.

Agree on vision with milestones. I think of it like this. If my goal is to buy a house, then how do my actions daily or weekly translate to commission that I need to buy the house. Where I spend the time is what will help me achieve that goal. So reverse engineering the larger goal but keeping it top of mind when you prioritize your time.

Deloitte question. I have always gotten a raise each year, the only question I ask is how much of a raise do I get. But I’m hearing from former Deloitte folks, it is naive to expect annual raises each year however small/big they are? And how does this play in Deloitte consulting vs advisory? Do one tend to withhold annual raises in base salary over the other, or is this just a deloitte culture thing? Looking at exit opportunities all over. So lmk! I’d Rather get a small raise than none at all.

Need some vacation advice. I’m at an all-inclusive that was billed as “luxury”, but food and service are mediocre, the resort is run down, and we’ve had mult instances with other guests making drunken scenes. My wife and I have been doing the all-inclusive route for a while now and I think we’ve come to the conclusion that we need to just go to an expensive, pay as you go resort to get the food, service, and higher caliber of guests. Suggestions on such a place? Carribean preferred. Thanks.

Can I participate in commercials/ads while working for a Big4? I have been casted for an upcoming modeling job and I will be (finally) leaving Deloitte in month. I'm wondering if is there anything in Deloitte policy that doesn't allow me to do this and if I should just reject the casting gig until I officially exit (this is my first time getting casted so I didn't want to reject it)

Are people still leaving Deloitte? Left earlier in the year right around when the bonus hit and a few others left around the same time as me. Wondering if things are all calmed down now and has reached some form of steady state w.r.t. staff turnover.
