My wife and I are considering a move from Oregon to Coastal Maine. It would be a promotion for me and she can continue working remotely. Anyone have experience doing a coast to coast move and have any advice? Specifically advice about trying to obtain housing in a city you don’t live in? We have moved longer distances before, but this is a whole other level.

Found out I’m making $20k less than someone in same role (share similar experiences and both started over a year ago). Brought this up to my manager who encouraged me to talk to her manager (VP of department) if I felt comfortable. Scheduled a meeting with the VP, brought my facts, and politely asked if I could have a raise. She obliterated me. Said it was disrespectful to come to her and ask such a thing, unacceptable to be talking about salary with others, etc.

I started as an intern then offered a full time job of £18k salary. In a year I’ve impacted this company so much and ensure to land & secure 2 big clients and more.
My boss said I’ll have a raise to £25k this year but now got messaged with offer £2.5k raise now and another after seeing some month when I was expecting like £28k so I’ve asked for a meeting this week cause that just pi**ed me off. Hello a black female working in current company for over 15yrs. Since joining I hld multiple positions and worked abroad and have my IMBA. I can’t get to Sn. executive level promotion. I hv noticed other female all white Latinos get promoted fast. I am happy for fellow females. I championed for some of them.
