We managed to work out our account manager meant "I've just remembered something."

Just got out of the Army and transitioned to the business world. I have no clue how to dress. I’ve worn a uniform almost everyday for 7 years. Anyone have any advice for how to dress in the workplace?

Have you provided private consulting on market/industry trends for an hourly fee? If so, how much did you ask as a rate? I was approached to join 3 one-hour phone calls (11 yrs experience in data/BI).

Hi Fishes,
I'm a consultant with Deloitte India with 9 YOE.
I'm getting 12LPA whereas, they are hiring again a consultant with 3 YOE and they are paying them 16LPA. So i have asked my manager on fixing my pay to Market standards.
I can move on to other company easily, but just 9 months with Deloitte India
Wanted to serve atleast 1 year.
What's your recommendations please

So I recently found out that my current company is underpaying me. And by that I mean that literally any other company is willing to pay me 15-20k more than what I make now. In my current role they've asked me to take on extra responsibilities with no financial compensation (scrum master type stuff) while still doing my engineering stuff. I don't necessarily mind it, but I'm starting to feel like I'm being taken advantage of. Is it reasonable for me to ask for a raise? Or do I go somewhere else?

Any opinions on working in business valuations and litigation support?

What's the concensus on designations in the property claims world? Been in the industry 9 years, 2 as a supervisor. Trying to decide if I should chase one or two down. Only want to do it if it will help my career growth though.

Hi there 🐠🐟, how y'all doing! F25 here based in Mumbai.

Help - Need advice about an offer I got: $105k in Big 4 Financial Advisory in LCOL. I'm right now at a different Big 4 with 3 years of audit experience in LCOL. I'm not sure how much more Advisory pays than Audit. Is this a good offer? Should I ask for more?

INTERN: Yeah I was slammed last week, I’m only getting to it now.

Media Coordinator: Hey, do you have an ETA on the audio? The Account Manager is having heart palpitations... Not that he actually has a heart...

What would you do?

Your teammate with the same title and pay as you is at your desk all the time for help. I'm definitely open to helping - but sometimes "help" is basically the whole job - it feels like I'm doing both jobs lol and it almost feels unfair that we both get paid the same or very close (Colorado, so pay transparency). The teammate has been with the company for longer than me.

Boss1 (American): “Because it just complicates things! Why do you have to go and throw a spanner in the wheel?!”
Boss3 (British): “Spanner in the wheel?? You’re mixing up your metaphors. It’s spanner in the works.”
Boss2: “What’s a spanner?”
Boss3: “In ENGland where we speak ENGlish, it’s the item you mistakenly refer to as a wrench.”
Boss2: “So – a wrench in the works?”
Boss3: “Yes, it’s a tool that screws everything up …like you.”

Partner: this reminds me of a great book.. it is really very great I highly recommend you get this book.

Associate: What's the deal with (name) and that book. He just keep recommending everyone read it. He showed a chart from it in the last client touch point.

Manager: He wrote the book.

Hey Fishes - my team has added a lot of people within the past year and I have started to wonder whether or not my salary as a Sr level employee is “equitable” ( i.e: are these new hires reporting into me getting paid more ?) . Any recommendations on how to have a productive conversation with my director about this?

So I felt my acting manager, my actual manager is on mat leave, was a bit aggressive in her response to me and I mentioned it to her. Now she is like micromanaging like hell. How do I handle this? She comes of passive aggressive but I just ignore because she is not my manager it’s temporary. I couldn’t let this slide without letting her know I felt her response was aggressive
