So I asked for more info and they knew the company had one good candidate but wanted to make sure they’re getting the best. Sounds like the hiring manager contacted these other agencies this week too. That candidate is me so I’m sitting here like wtf, is going into the interview just a waste of my time? Not sure why they didn’t contact other recruiters 2-3 weeks ago when this process first started. Also feel like this gives me a bad vibe about the company. Thoughts?

This happens all the time (except for part of being contacted). I’ve been contacted early on in process from multiple recruiters for same role. Companies like to make sure the best talent is hired, etc. Call them out though if you don’t get the job.

like

Think their hedging bets if you don’t get it maybe not best candidate pool. Maybe ask them and mention you also were contacted for role? I’ve been passive aggressive and got job by inquiring before. Do you, but again common to hit up recruiters if picky.

Has anyone ever reported repeated micro-aggressions from a partner that were taking a toll on your mental health to HR or otherwise? If so, what approach did you take? Would doing it during an exit interview be a good idea? Or is it perhaps better to just leave the firm without saying anything to avoid burning bridges?

I’m in a pickle. Currently working in multistate tax and I am not a fan. I just accepted a position with KPMG on their methods team (it sounds like interesting work and I’m sick of compliance). I put in my notice and my Deloitte manager is trying to fight for me. He wants to match the pay they are offering and get me into a group that I like more. I am a ball of anxiety. Loved the people I met with for KPMG, but having my manager push so hard for me is making me have second thoughts. Any input?

Have been through a few rounds of interviews and feel like they have all been great. Last two have been with leaders of various practices and that was supposed to be the end. Now have been asked if I’ll do one more interview with someone in a different specialized practice, and if im interested in that space. Should I take this as a good sign I’ll be offered and they’re trying to place me, or am I being placed on hold while they run down a list of those they liked more and awaiting accepts?

Does anyone have any thoughts about a company terminating an employee within the HR team for testing positive for COVID 19 and further accusing the said employee of being the one that created the entire team to become infected by not answering the health screening questions accurately? The week prior to employee being tested the entire team was in the office sick. The company in question weeks prior wrote the employee up referencing sexual innuendo due to an accusation of a preferred name.

I realized I only enjoy chasing higher comp. Job switches every 2 years, always looking out for the next bump… it has taken a toll on my mental health. Tried to get hobbies to distract but I find myself back at websites checking comp numbers. Any suggestions to get out of the race?
