I’ve had this conversation with numerous peers; that’s both people I knew from the military who transitioned to consulting, and people I didn’t know in other branches who I’ve worked with. I’d like to ask opinions on what we bring up as being the stark difference in the transition; being a manger doesn’t mean you know how to manage. We can feel undervalued and underutilized (sometimes elder to Mgrs) while constantly asking for more, but by our junior positions we’re left frustrated. Thoughts?

I am looking for project/business analyst roles.

I decided to graduate a year early, double majored in Health Policy & Economics and Global history.

I don't regret that decision. Being at Vanderbilt wasn't the best experience, esp for an immigrant w/ low SES status.

While COVID impacted my plans for the two summers I had, I made the best use of the opportunities I came across. I know I am skilled, more than competent, but sometimes seeing so many rejections makes me question my abilities.

Hello everyone!
I’m seeking advise from fishers. My brother in law is going to university next year. He was engineering (which is one of the worse decisions someone can do from my experience LOOL). I told him if anything he should do managment engineering which he got accepted to. He also got accepted to Mcmaster- information management systems. Which in my opinion you get a bit of everything! And this degree is picking up a lot of traction’s across tech. More thoughts in the comments

I am a M2 at B4 FDD and don’t know how long i’ll be genuinely interested in this work. Currently debating rotating into a B4 IB associate role for a year or two, then moving to PE. Is this a reasonable move? I know IB lifestyle will suck, but I don’t want to find myself in a spot where I dislike what I do in a few years and feel like moving to IB may increase my chances of landing a better gig in the future ( as opposed to sticking to FDD)

I recently started my first post-college job as a software developer and have to make a decision pretty soon: front-end development or back-end development. I really like being closer to the user and the creativity as far as front-end. But I also reallly really enjoy math and logic and the more complex side to back-end. My dream would be to do full stack but thats not an option. Scared of getting pigeon holed. Any suggestions as to what to do / tips?

So I’m currently a Sr. PM at Amazon and I’m wondering if I would be a higher or lower level title at a startup? I assume I should be a higher title (like Director or VP) since I’d be moving from a huge company to a tiny one. But other folks have mentioned that I should actually be looking for a lower level title (like PM) since the scope at a smaller company would be more broad. I’m a bit confused on this and appreciate any advice.

Should be feel bad about possibly leaving my company? I’m about 2 years through a 3 year analyst contract and I’ve been interviewing at a different firm.

I don’t put anything about being a veteran on my profile, but it’s still part of my story when they ask what I did before consulting.
