I have an interview for a TPM role that I didn't technically apply to (my resume got passed along). I work in a technical environment but dont have a technical background. Do I actually have a real shot??
How technical are TPM roles? I know how to talk to technical people but not make technical decisions myself. Amazon Project Kuiper.

@SS1 I'm aware that it's tough and we might not make it, but I need to give it a try to be at peace with myself.
@Designer OP That’s awesome. Get out and get happy.
You can always jump back in if you have to. Just keep your skills up.
After having worked with countless restaurants/bars who never make it past 2 months, god speed.
Go for it. If it fails you’ll still learn a shit ton, and the satisfaction that you went for it!

Hahaha you’re fucked
Get out while you can but restaurants are hard work
Do it, but keep up with your designs skills. The restaurant industry can be fun, but it’s a grind and most restaurants fail - even successful ones often have a short lifespan
Good luck! You can always come back to adv
What’s your best case scenario? Survival. A few years of operation, if you’re lucky.
If you like money, don’t do it.
These comments are brutal but accurate. The restaurant business is so much harder than advertising it's unbelievable.
No you’re not. Good luck!

Hi Crazy, I’m Dan. Pleased to meet you!
@SD1 I do. Freelancing is my plan B so i've been preparing for that as well
Yes
Most restaurants fail. Best of luck!
Watch a season of Kitchen nightmares before you head off to that - especially if you have minimal experience in a restaurant. Like less than 5 years experience. nothing worse than owners that don’t understand the steps of service.
and truth with the above - restaurants are rarely profitable. And I don’t just mean “most fail” I mean that even the good ones have razor thin margins.
But if you’re passionate about it, enjoy and best of luck!
