Ive made several bad moves in a row and have ignored/glossed over red flags and not listened to my gut and im determined to not let it happen again. I had an interview today and got a few possible red flags. Anyone have thoughts? I only got through about half of my questions and didnt get to ask about management style, but ill ask about work env etc in subsequent interviews.

I would not take this job unless the compensation was a big step up from what I had before.

Maybe roll the dice then! Sometimes house cleaning has to happen if there was a toxic leader. If the title and the compensation would be a big step up, even if you only stay for a short while, that could put your overall career on a much higher trajectory.

That’s a lot of blaming sales and canning people without mentioning what he learned and how they’ve adjusted their product/service/process.

like

Oof. Thats what im afraid of. :/

Oof those are big red flags in my opinion. Sounds like chaos. Also makes me question how well resourced the company would be in a potential recession. All of those flags could also stem from “revenue pressure is building.”

Possible 🚩1: ceo resigned about a month ago. I asked why. Acting president said his take is that there was a personal friendship bt the ceo and owner and as the business got tough, the ceo couldnt hang and may have gotten butthurt to find out the owner was more business-focused than friend-focused. I did not ask him to elaborate on “the business got tough” 🤦‍♀️

Possible 🚩2: the sales staff all got laid off at the start of the year and the now-acting-president took over all sales. Didnt ask about that either 🤦‍♀️

Possible 🚩3: theyd been working with an agency but he fired them a few months ago due to not seeing value and hired a different one that will be staying on for the foreseeable future unless i/the person they hire deem otherwise.

Green flag: hes big on transparency and not trying to say everything is great and perfect.

Would yall consider these dealbreakers? What follow up questions would you ask in subsequent interviews?

I’m being recruited back to a bank I left 6 months ago. Was contacted by a recruiter this week because I had indicated in my exit interview that I would consider a return to the firm in the future. When I left this bank for my current employer… I received a $30k bump. I’ve never been recruited before and am curious what questions I should ask? Is this a good sign? Would it be wrong to ask for an additional $25k to go back?

Hey everyone,
I have a second round interview with a saas company selling education software. This interview will be a 30 minute zoom call with the VP of sales. I am someone from a non- traditional background with 2 years of sales-ish roles but no experience in tech sales and no straight forward sales job.
I did a tech sales bootcamp. Im just worried about what questions he will ask me? Im thinking more technical in terms of sales processes and even sales funnels? Any thoughts?

I’ve worked with many different industry-sponsors and CROs throughout the years, but many jobs I am applying to require experience at a biotech/CRO/pharma company. Would really appreciate any advice or referrals. Thanks in advance!

I applied for a position at a creative agency via LinkedIn. I'm not excited about agency work but job hunting hasn't been going well and I applied anyway. They reached out and would like to interview. But when I went to look over the job details again, I found their listing on ZipCruiter gives a pay range, which at their high end is $20k less than my minimum salary reqs. Should I still interview with them? If not, how can I politely reply and decline the interview?

I am applying to more positions through staffing agencies as one way to get a writing job. When they tell me the hourly rate and I suggest a few dollars higher per hour, they'll say, "Just so you know, the competition is priced lower than you."

Is this to scare me into submission to charge less so that they can profit more? Or is an employer really not going to pick me because I am priced 1-$2 more per hour than someone else? Wdyt?
