Hello! I am on an E3 (Australian visa) in the US and had to do an in-country extension because of covid. They have sent a Request for Evidence (RFE) to PwC even though this is not a new visa, it is just a renewal. Have others had this experience? Should I be worried?
Are there any movies (not tv series) made during/after the COVID pandemic that depict an hybrid or full remote work environment?
Watch quite a few now and never came across one, I am worried that this is one of the many elements that will perpetuate the fact that work=office for white collars.
Currently seeking opportunities at the moment due to being laid off during COVID. If anyone is hiring, please let me know!
I was laid off about a month ago and while I was super happy to be off such a shitty account, I can’t help but feel defeated and confused. With Covid still raining havoc, the job market is stale and the interviews feel like a dog and pony show. I keep asking myself “wtf is going on?!” . Idk, maybe I’m better off just being a stripper or something...I mean, nothing in my life right now is making sense anyways.
Linkedin has gotten just as bad as facebook with attention style grabbing posts and people exaggerating or even making stuff up for the sake of likes. Pre-covid, I also remember seeing a spike of coworkers with linkedin pulled up on their desktops as if it were acceptable since its “professional”. I feel like more than half of the activity on linkedin these days can hardly even be considered as professional. I see the majority of my news feed cluttered with people desperate for social validation
Is it a good time to buy a condo in chicago downtown? Considering the CoViD economy, chicago property taxes and low interest rates. My personal finance situation is I have 54k saved up and this includes emergency. I hv a 200k property outside USA, I bought for my parents of which 18k is yet to be paid.
I caught COVID just in time for the most beautiful Memorial Day Weekend, ugh this sucks so bad, I'm missing EVERYTHING I feel like I'm in jail. So much stuff I had to cancel, family trip, concerts, friend events, was going to see so many people I haven't seen in ages. Ugh and I really needed those things, it's been a rough winter.
Actually I had a nightmare last night about being unfairly thrown in jail which syncs.
Anyway, just crying out into the ether. Any moral support is appreciated
How are tier 2 firms fairing through COVID?
Anyone willing to share what the McKinsey Covid bonus was for the BA level? Bain comp update coming and wondering what to expect. TIA!
What is your biggest concern in regards to school if we have a second round of COVID19 this summer?
Tax Q! My uncle is a professional painter. He claims his basement studio as his office and also expenses any hotels and plane costs for when he travels to paint on his taxes. He recently purchased a camper van to travel around the US because COVID. Would he be allowed to deduct the purchase price or in some way claim the camper as an expense against his income?
Is pandemic leave(covid) paid leave in EY GDS?
Anyone start with AWS during covid? What was on boarding like? Did they send laptop? I haven’t heard anything yet and start date next week
A girl returned from study abroad trip in Italy, has coronavirus. Family under self-quarantine order and sister’s school was canceled. Family ignored and went to father-daughter dance @Ritz 🙄
Need some advise
Last year due to covid got laid off and then didn't got any opportunity due to visa issues. Later myself and my family got covid positive and unfortunately my father expired due to covid.
So I have got gap of 1.3 years in my career.
Now I want to start giving interviews and get back in the game.
My concern is with 2 things here
1. I lack confidence/motivation due to the gap.
2. How do I address this gap in resume ?
Started COVID at 200
Just hit 167
I also fell off the wagon at 178 for all of Fall and Winter so for anyone else trying to get back on the horse literally take it slow and in your own time, you'll get there! Marathon not a race.
My mom works two jobs. Her side job is at a fast casual dining place, and she hasn’t been able to work since COVID started. Can she still get the COVID assist money?
I was laid off last month but now in the final interview stage for two very different opportunities.
First opp is a digital agency and they asked if I’d consider a part-time contract gig with the “goal to hire” in 60 days, depending on the COVID impact. So no guarantee for a full-time offer. Second opp is a client side marketing role at a publicly traded company that has been somewhat recession-proof. Culture is very corporate and a bit conservative (not creative).
