How do the skillset/knowledge requirements change as you move to the senior levels (manager, SM, director, CXO) in the data science/AI field? Does broad-based (or specialized) algorithmic knowledge become less important? What kind of a narrative do you need to articulate to move up?
So confused by PR agency salaries mapping to titles as some agencies seem to consider MS/Dir equal and MD/VP as equal. In SF, what would be the appropriate salary ranges for Dir vs MD vs VP?
I’m interviewing for a boutique consultancy. What are some creative ways to determine their openness/acceptance of LGBT people?
First day at EY and flying to ATL for training in an hour. What are my lunch options with this BS expense policy?
I’m curious to see what the average pay for a campus recruiter in NYC is. I’m one year into this role, came in entry level, and already got promoted, but I want to make sure I’m getting fairly compensated. Any other recruiters here?
Thoughts on investing into rental properties vs putting money into market? Had 2 HUD rented properties and currently selling them and unsure whether to invest in purchasing another one or just use that money to buy stocks. I’m worried that low income renters will struggle with paying rent due to losing jobs because of COVID. Thoughts?
After so many FAANG rejects, I'm kinda getting addicted to the rejection emails and want to apply for some random MBB roles to get some more rejects! F this sh*t!
Ugh. Just submitted an app and noticed I forgot a "the" (e.g. I revamped THE xyz system) in my activity description. I think it's a small thing but so frustrating. F.
Couple of dumb questions, but thought I’d ask in hopes that I can get back on course. 24M with the following assets: ~$30k HYSA, ~$6,600 Fidelity Roth 401k from old employer, ~$14k Vanguard (60% traditional 401k, 4% Roth 401k), $13.5k M1 Taxable acct (ETFs). I make ~$100k annually (salary+bonus). I’m contributing the max to my 401k as of this year. Questions below:
How do schools feel about you jumping from a management consulting firm to startup if that startup fails badly after you join? I’m sure you could spin it as a learning experience but will that really work when you’re being compared against people from MBB/PE/FAANG?
I’m back in the classroom. Any f2f activities for ESL students that follow social distancing guidelines? I teach Elementary, Middle and High-school kids. Thanks!!
Anyone else feel like they’re on an emotional roller coaster sometimes? 🎢 🙋♀️ I feel like I have at least one week a month where I’m either feeling down/sickly, PMS-ing, not sleeping well, etc. As somewhat of a feminist, it drives me nuts. I really want to kill my (already annoying) coworkers when I get like this. And yes, I eat well, exercise, etc. Not really looking for advice, just want to know I’m not the only one 😂
I'm ~7 months into my new role at Accenture. During the time I accepted the offer, I also had one from Slalom. Accenture hasn't been that great. I'm not doing the work I would like and there's just a bunch of other BS on the side for me to deal with. Sat on the bench for my first 4 months and then they put me on a staff aug project...I feel like I made the wrong decision. (Cont)
