I've recently been struggling to figure out what job is next and what I want to do with my career. I have 4.5 yoe, 3.5 years at PwC within tax/tax technology and 1 year within IT transformation, Agile/Change and Implementation work. I don't have many hard skills except for things like excel, PowerPoint, alteryx/tableau/powerbi, and struggling to find something that I want to do. How long is your current project? I wouldn’t write off your entire career because of one project. You have good ones and bad ones in consulting.

Thanks for this, I fully agree and believe there are a lot of things I've learned from the project. So not writing it off whatsoever. Just trying to determine what it is that I want.

Have you thought about what you don’t want to do / like and then take those off the list of potential opportunities?

Send me a DM let's talk

My current project has been ongoing for the last 5 months, very complex product development. The makeup of the team is a disaster and I'm trying to keep it all together although I'm only a Business Analyst and have to take care of my own responsibilities I'm having to comm/doc requirements with design, data/Knowledge Mgmt, and Development teams (which are across three different time zones... US, Europe, India). It's extremely challenging and I'm burning out. I'd rather be in the product strategy space of it all instead of the maintenance and other little stuff which just sounds like people kicking the can every week

Job hopping is okay if it gets you another job! If they invest the time and money to onboard you then take it! For interviewing skills it may be an opportunity for you to develop your public speaking and getting comfortable talking to yourself. Focus on yourself a little while and it’ll all fall into place! 👍🤞👍

Good luck with the interview!!

Question: The company that you are working for offers cloud managed services and has been approached by a potential client. What are some areas (or red flags) you would consider before responding to their RFP? ( I started putting together a response but would love to get your insights) Answer: 1) Understanding of current annual spending vs spending if they adopted our cloud services 2) Clients expected growth rate 3) Regulatory requirements depending on industry (medical, fed etc)

Was on the bench for a while (5 months) and just about to get rolled onto a new project in a role I’m not very passionate about and is a lateral move but it’s billable work. I recently got a verbal offer from a smaller consulting company to step into a role that is a huge step forward in my career. I’m going through clearance for my current role and recently learned many are leaving the project to work on other projects so I and one other person will be the only ones left.…

HOW do I stop caring so much about this job? I’ve been handed a non-billable project to manage and complete on an absolutely impossible timeline. I can’t stop thinking about how disappointed everyone will be when I can’t deliver and satisfy their ridiculous expectations. Maybe I’m having a bad day, but this is the closest I’ve been to quitting on the spot.

MD or MBA? I got into both. I know most will say choose the MD, but hear me out: MD: I'd have to go into a specialty to have a good IRR given my salary & the $200K+ debt. By the time I'd be done with residency the US may be in a single payer system. US doctors make 3x the amount in France and 2x vs UK.. I currently make what a doctor makes in France. That could be the future here, too. MBA: 1 yr. Europe. I'd make about 15-20% more vs. now.
