My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered. For the interim, I’ve been looking for a remote opportunity where I can leverage my skills in marketing, sales, social media, and elsewhere for a decent sum. I have a social media presence which, in recent years, reached millions. There has to be something exciting I can do.
Thinking about getting a dog. Always wanted one and now I have plenty of time to care for it. But once life resumes I’m not sure. I can’t afford a daily dog walker. Do they really need a midday walk? Thought I could do a walk in the morning, right after work and before bed. I would work from home 2 days a week so could do midday walks then.
Realistically, how long do you think we’ll be WFH? I’m in NYC, but curious for across the US.
Memorial Day is significant for many reasons. How are you planning to celebrate the first three-day weekend since WFH-life began in March? Have a great weekend, and stay healthy and safe! 🇺🇸 😎
Help! My wife’s company in Boston is not allowing their staff to work from home and in-fact mandating that people come onsite and work from office. Given the spread in the area I am concerned.
I am working at MSLGROUP as an Associate, less than 1 yoe , they have asked me to relocate in 4 weeks to the Location (currently wfh). Also I have an offer from one of the competitors based in my City. Relocating will shoot up my expenses and joining the competitor is kind of a downgrade in terms of brand. What do you think guys?
Partners - what was your rationale on staying for the partner track? As a M, I feel that I’m in a fork in the road (SM into partner track vs private accounting). I’m stressed with WFH fatigue, and considering leaving but want to make sure I’m making the best decision LT (despite ST stress).
https://bit.ly/3f71kOA Hi All! The NYC Advertising bowl is launching a little project for our 5 boroughs called Networking With Neighbors. The industry is a small one and we’re closer together than we think as we WFH. Find your next connection, opportunity or new friend right in your neighborhood or one nearby.
Feel like I just hit a wall recently with just an overall lack of motivation. Tbh unsure if it’s WFH related or the actual job. Anyone have any tips for getting out of this funk?
Could any KPMG folks from SF share the current office policy? Fully remote, hybrid, etc? Also, what office is the main office? I see multiple pages on the KPMG website. Thanks in advance!
Since we are WFH in the US, thinking of flying to India to family and WFH from there. Any rules, specifically for L-visa holders, that prevent us from working remotely from a different country?
I started with a new company in their crypto audit practice based out of NYC but we offer remote positions as well. Hit me up if you’re interested
Considering remote options with Baker Tilley, Armanino, DHG and Cohn Reznick at SM level. Any opinions or advice would be appreciated?
My work office is in philly but i wfh in delaware. Why im i paying for both state taxes as well as philly tax. Is that right or do i need to make some adjustments. Im at PwC currently.
I was offered a FAANG role but it would require me to move. How do you make a case to work out of your local office/remote and travel into the main office every month or so? Any negotiation tips? Bicoastal team and most members of the direct team are on the West. I was asked to move to NYC where the broader team sits. 3 YOE
Can we order chair through well being subsidy plan ,as one year ago I bought one chair through work from home productivity plan? Will it creates any issues at reimbursement.
How are big tech companies approaching salary for core jobs that used to be in the Bay Area but are now remote (North America wide)? Do they scale it based on city you live in?
How hard is it to go in-house once you're a partner? I'm up for evaluation this winter at a smaller BigLaw firm, but I'm questioning whether that's the route I want to go long term. There are plenty of remote jobs in my practice area (patents/IP, computer science focus). Making matters more difficult is that my wife and I will be starting IVF in Jan., and I know parental leave/benefits don't kick in for a bit. If I go through the shareholder process, will it be hard to go in-house?
Do you include unrealized PTO into your net worth if your company pay it out once terminated/you leave and you don’t lose it at the end of each year? Essentially guaranteed money if you don’t use it so not sure why one wouldn’t include it 🤔
Want to hear about people's experiences on how they managed to get an interview call with MBB or at the Big 4's through experienced hiring. Did you go through career websites or spoke directly to the recruiter?
Hi, anyone know about cool teams at B4 or consulting firms that are making big strides in the „ethical culture“ space?
Turned in my 2 wks. EM asked me to stay for another week bc manager will be on parental leave around the same time (and sounds like EM is pressuring him as well). Should I consider at all?? Felt a bit guilty to leave the pressure on the manager…
Do other firms pay UG campus hires more than campus hires from the previous year, even accounting for their raise? Ex: 2019 Campus hire starts at 70k, raise to 75k after year 1; 2020 Campus hire starts at 76k. Or is this just a Deloitte thing?
Okay everyone, I need to rant here. I'm so sick and tired of getting an email everyday! And I mean every single day getting a COVID 19 email saying there are cases. My school gets so many cases, I firmly believe we need to go back on lock down and online. This is getting ridiculous that we put state funding over the well being of our students and staff!! I dont want to get sick nor get covid or spread it to our students. And our job wonders why no one wants to work for us and stay working.
Current comp is near the top of the band for a role I was offered. If I jumped I would be taking a ~7% increase while I was hoping for something closer to 20%. Is it possible to counter and push past the band? I was offered a raise during my interview process so the original jump of 15% was decreased to 7% based on my new salary.
Thinking of applying at Workday but want to wait until January for several reasons. I am hoping demand will still be high early 2022 but wondering what everyone’s thoughts are
Just landed a first round interview at AlixPartners. Any insight in what to expect in the interview process? Especially the assessments.
Hi fishes, can anybody telle how the company "@ Bureau Veritas" is ? is it a good organization to join in mid level experience as a Business Analyst? also, what should i expect from them in terms of salary?
Thoughts on Publicis Sapient? Specifically PS's Management Consulting practice that's fairly new. In terms of strategy work and exit opps. I know they're digitally focused but don't want to get stuck doing ERP implementations or something.
Crossposting from meme bowl. Made a handy guide based on my experience dating Big 4. You’re welcome ladies 💁🏻♀️
Do they verify military duty dates, or can I just enter military PTO when needed. Sometimes dates change or I want to add a day prior for travel or something. Do they need to see published orders dates for military PTO?
Why does EY have only 3 weeks of PTO when the rest of big four have 5? How do EYers structure your PTO?
SO has been an art teacher for 5 yrs, looking to get out of the classroom. Just completed a Masters in Org Leadership with specialty in Proj Mgmt. What’s a good role for that Exp and Edu combo?
Is anyone else part of a team that frowns upon sick days? I definitely don't abuse them, but I feel horribly guilty whenever I take a day off to try to recover.
