I’ve seen some people write “acting senior” or “acting manager” on their resume under their accounting firm and will even put the time frame they were an “acting senior”. I am 100% an acting senior right now, but should I put it on my resume? Idk if that’s normal or weird to put

I have a bullet point under my current position that basically says I act at a senior capacity and serve as primary client contact, and oversee the development of a staff. Hopefully that helps

like

Yes that’s similar to what I currently have. What I saw from an example resume from a friend at the B4 was that they put it as their job title rather than just a bullet point

Yeah that’s kinda odd to put your actual role on your resume as acting senior as it’s not an actual position. I would just put the bullets that you perform and you can state in an interview how these responsibilities put you in an acting senior role

like

I have a bullet under my associate experience that says I was given the opportunity to have such a pleasure, but as a separate title is pretty aggressive

Hard to say what someone will think about that. I think if you explained it well enough in an interview it would be fine. Interested to see what others say.

As someone who interviews for the firm, I cringe when people write "acting" level up. We're all in public, we are well aware of what is expected your second year at staff or senior. Leave it off and bring it up in the interview when they ask you to describe your role.

like

If you had to perform senior role responsibilities during staff level then why not .

What I mean is, they put it as their job “title”, not just a bullet point

likehelpful

I added it to my LinkedIn and not my resume and the reason was as I was coming up in all kinds of searches for senior jobs but wouldn’t leave for a Senior job I could’ve gotten two years ago. I’m normally against it but in this environment seems to have forced it

Hi All,

Recently got the opportunity to "grow our ESG/CSR" practice at a small regional consulting firm, due to my recent grad certification in sustainable strategy. Wondering where I should focus us as a services industry for big impact - we have a large product innovation, engineering area, and know in the past we've had a lot of lip service to clients and only recorded ESG for their compliance.

Hoping to make a big difference and include CSR/Sust audits for our client projects! Any tips?

Networking question here. A retired partner at the firm I used to work out reached out to me recently about attending an afternoon during the week (b4 4/30) with one of his long time clients. The partner and I have kept in touch since I joined my new firm and I feel like his invitation is a great networking opportunity since the client (who I have worked with before) is on a number of boards. Torn as how to request off as an S3. Could materialize to nothing but could be good for reconnecting.
