I’ve watched all levels give notice headed to another big four and no one has been walked out. It happens in rare instances, but if you’re seeing people leave abruptly there is probably more to it than where they’re going.
ITs happened 100% of the time for my team and not just to B4. Because I’m in a specialty practice, boutique firms are treated the same. 2 days max but agree it’s illogical. Damage has been done if there’s going to be any.
How do they confirm you’re changing firms? Haven’t heard of this before
I had to fill out a questionnaire about where I was going and what I was doing for independence reasons.

Based on the inconsistency of experiences I’ve seen, I think it probably varies on how pressed your team is. Leaving during summer and they’re already struggling to keep you billable? Probably walking that day. Leaving when your teams slammed and needs all hands on deck? Might work your notice.
