I've suffered from chronic anxiety with related depression for most of my adult life. Recently I sought my state's Lawyer Assistance Program's help finding treatment professionals. At their insistence I spent a month's salary on a week-long evaluation. Now they've labeled me "not clear to practice" and say that unless I spent nearly a year's salary attending a specialty program, they won't release me to practice again.

Any other professionals experienced this?

Honest discussion about burn out: it is with you for the long run.
I burnt out at my last job and the job before that and now I’m at a really good firm that has no set billable hours and a really manageable workload, but it’s still difficult to get any work done. It will take a long time to fully recover from burn out.

Struggling to stay productive this week. The heat wave is not helping either. So worried about what will happen.

Does anyone else struggle to accept your diagnosis? I’ve had two therapists suggest I try medication, but I can’t help feeling like I’m just too weak to handle the challenges of the world. That medication is the “easy way out”. In weekly therapy (+other lifestyle changes), but my anxiety/depression just seems to be getting worse.

Idk if it’s from the years of mental/emotional abuse or lack of boundaries / respect, but seeing my family has become awkward and tough. I went home for dinner today and just like other times - we don’t talk or I have to force conversation (so plans this weekend or what you do this week).
