Dont want to dump on you but make sure you filter out the resume collectors who push fake jobs and have useless calls to hit KPIs only

Its not just positions filled. I'm sure calls made, CVs harvested etc all counts. I don't know how it is in USA but in UK they're atrocious. Ive had plenty of times when I'd get dropped calls simply because I didn't answer same second. Absolute nuisance they are

I just accepted a position after feeling undervalued for a year in a toxic environment. When I first started my hunt, I felt the same way when anyone expressed interest. It was a good reminder that I do bring something to the table. Enjoy the validation!

They don’t want you. They want to make money reselling your labor to the highest bidder. They want to work you until you are old and spent, to squeeze out of you every cent of value they can extract.

Totally true, recruiters are just as bad as real estate agents. Very lucky that I’m not actually looking to move - just want to get a feel of the market. Knowing that my skills are needed is quite a good feeling nevertheless

Very early in my career, a colleague shared a great article about the difference between retained and contingent recruiters. Once you understand this, you might feel differently about 'being validated.' Be careful with your resume and that it isn't being 'shopped' to anyone (with or without your permission). After all, someone that is paid on commission will do crazy things to get compensated
