I’ve worked at EY for 1 year as an auditor making $53k. I just got a job offer for a consulting position that would pay me $85k. Would I be crazy not to take it?

Looking to transfer into a client associate role (unregistered at the moment, but willing to obtain). Currently have ~1.5 YOE in valuation (financial statement analysis, modeling, etc.) I get that those skills could be unrelated to a CSA role, but I think there could be some similarities. Does anyone happen to have a referral or can anyone give DM me some insight into what a CSA role would look like? I appreciate it.

I have accepted an offer for the role of Director of Data Science & Analytics and I'll be working with old colleagues. I am very excited. I haven't given notice yet because I am waiting for the background check to complete, but my boss just asked me about traveling to a meeting in November. I start at the new job Oct 25. I'm really struggling for how to respond. If I were not leaving it is absolutely a meeting I should be at. I don't want to respond with a lie. Any dvice on how to respond?

Is 22-24 LPA good range for Senior Consultant in EY GDS Business consulting or am I being underpaid (3.4 yoe)?

I get tax brackets but in the UK making 30K you pay ~£6K tax and when you make around 5x more at £150k you pay 10x more tax ~£60k. What things can you do to lower your tax in consulting? (I’m not at 150 yet but most of us will get there hopefully if we stay in this role)

Does anyone else just not even want to be a people manager anymore?! The amount of work this is taking, I’m just so over it. In addition to them piling on my work (which is a full time job) the people management stuff is just as much a full time job that no one in management seems to take into account. I have tried countless times to explain this but I end up burnt out, everyone suffers including me. I just left one role bc of it and now this new role, same thing. I’m over it.

Solid tips or strategies on cutting back on alcohol? My bf & I were moderate drinkers before the pandemic, but over the year I’m fairly confident we’ve become heavy drinkers (6-7days/wk). I’m stressed about it and have mentioned cutting back for a while, but he insists we’re fine. I find it rly difficult to go cold turkey or cut by myself when he’s still drinking as “normal” and we share our living space. We’re aware of all the health risks, but that alone hasn’t changed us. Let me tell you, I love the flexibility at my firm, OK pay, and I do a great job, and am comfortable pushing back when I have too much work . BUT managers are terrible at planning and recently end up putting me in preventable situations where I need to work 55 hrs or have the staff work the 55 hours. I literally cannot since I have a family and my daughter is only in day care a few hours a day, I'm already doing my max work. Is it crazy that I may want to leave Bc I hate making ppl miserable?

IT Audit fish! What resources would you recommend to pass the CISA? Looking for a study plan similar to Becker CPA. Since I’m new to IT audit, the MCQ database alone may not be enough.

I work at a mid tier firm in an audit group of ~20 people. We’ve recently had two seniors and a manager leave, and I just found out another senior with a ton of big jobs is leaving in three weeks. I also just found out I’m being promoted to senior with a raise of 10%. In light of all these departures though, I kind of want to ask for more.... should I? And what % raise is appropriate?
