More info- I’ve enjoyed my time at EY but don’t see myself lasting past senior as I hate busy season passionately. This new job would also pay a yearly bonus around 7% and would be in a higher COL region.
If you hate busy seasons which us a few months of the year, all the best with consulting and busy seasons all year round!
If you envision yourself doing this job then do it. You will acquire and learn more if you enjoy your job.
Honestly, the benefit of staying within EY is that (if they are doing the same as pwc) digital and tech are probably a huge focus now and there are tremendous opportunities to build consulting skills within that realm without the scrutiny of being a “consultant”. You might lose some money in the short term but I can attest that I’ve been able to gain a tremendous amount of skills and bring value far beyond what I was capable of if I had switched to consulting vs taking advantage of digital and the firms current investment in it.
That’s why I said 85k is fire haha
I literally JUST did this - moved from 58K to 83K, to a higher COL, but still like the decision
I agree seems like your mind is already made up so go for it at least you know that PA isn’t for you
What you feel now if you know you do not like PA will only get amplified sure you will get more experience if at what cost
