Would not recommend the jump when we are likely going to be going into a recession. Stick with the job you know can and will feed your family.
I'm in a similar scenario! Did you get any insight?
I’ve made the jump- consulting to government and now back to consulting, all in the same industry. Best advice, when interviewing, make sure you ask a lot of questions to really understand the job and what your responsibilities will be & don’t be afraid to turn down a job during the interview process. When interviewing, your connections and government process knowledge will help you stand out- sell these.
If you land the job, you’ll probably be working more than 40 hours, working for multiple clients at the same time, and will be “on call” during busy stages of your projects.
