I’ve worked with my current employer fresh out of high school. They are a small family owned business with 1 dr. I’ve stayed with them for over 10yrs. I went from a receptionist, to a technician, to a health insurance specialist, and now doing billing. I’m 35 is it too late for me to get out and work for a bigger company?

Never too late! If you are looking for more opportunities and growth, you should look at a larger physician practice or health system. You’ll have a great background that will be very attractive for hiring managers.

It is never too late to build your career. With all those years, now what you have is years of experience that will help you land on a good job.

Never! Write down the pros and cons between jobs. Review compensation, benefits and retirement benefits. Don’t let your emotions cloud your judgment. Good luck!

My wife and I always encourage young and novice nurses to contribute for their retirement and it is also never too late.

No it's not! There is no specific time table for success or happiness out there. There is no one formula for the things you want in life, unless you go and get them. One thing I learned working is that when you aim for nothing, you hit nothing. Go on and get that job you always wanted, good luck!

Thank you I’ve been applying all night.

It's not. Sometimes we need to face our fears and lots of uncertainties. But it's for our own sake, for the development of our career. You got this! Best of luck!

I don't think its too late at all. I say go for it. Do what YOU want to be doing.

I would like to start trying to have another kid at the end of this year but feel if I wait a couple of more years to switch firms, no one will consider me since I'll be 8.5-9 years out and trying to break into a new practice area. I am going on 36.5 years old. I don't want to leave now and tell any that I am pregnant within the first year but I also don't want to leave immediately after I return from maternity leave. I feel stuck.
