Hi Fishes, need your help
I am Fresher, I joined HCL 4months back. We all got a mail for hybrid mode work. My work location and client work location is Bangalore. Due to some personal reasons, I can't go to Bangalore. My manager advise me to work on chennai shollinganallur location. But , but for my client resources there is no ODC in Chennai. Is there any common ODC in shollinganallur where I can work?
Please share your info , I am new to this .

Time to clock in
My first complication
For a “first” luxury watch, I’d probably go with Omega, but not the Speedy (sorry Speedy fans; I owned one so I do have a frame of reference). My choice would be the SMP (https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/watch-omega-seamaster-diver-300m-omega-co-axial-master-chronometer-42-mm-21030422003001), and I’d go with the Blue dial or Silver dial (I wouldn’t choose black because it’s pretty close aesthetically to the Submariner).
The SMP has an automatic movement, see-through caseback, adjustable bracelet, looks good with jeans or a suit, has a 5 year warranty (although I think IWC may have 8 now), and you can literally take it anywhere. The movement should also go a decade before you have to think about service.
Finally, I would buy from an authorized dealer so you know you’re getting the real deal, but I would make sure I negotiated for at least 15% off. If I was going gray market for one of these I’d be wanting 25% off.
I think both have a strong value proposition. I think IWC has better choices for dress and pilots watches, while Omega performs better on dive watches and chronographs (Speedmaster!). If you want to be safe, I would recommend starting with a Speedy—especially the moon watch with the new handwound Calibre!
Second this. Could not have been stated better.
You’ll find beautiful watches fitting your brief with both companies, so it’s really about personal preference. I’m personally more of an Omega fan, there’s some people on here who have absolutely gorgeous Aquaterras, IMO that’s one option for a perfect everyday watch, works great both with a suit and in a more casual outfit. Don’t rush, enjoy the shopping process and please post a picture when you buy the watch!
Check out JLC for another strong contender for dress watches in your price range. Grand Seiko is also a good option - both are similarly under the radar.
What do you normally wear to work? I think your daily attire heavily influences the brand and watch you choose. If you're wearing suits and ties (i.e. more formal attire) IWC has better options that fit your style. If you're wearing more business casual attire, Omega may be a better bet. Either way, neither of these brands are in "high demand" and you should be able to obtain decent discounts, so shop around. I recommend going to different stores and trying on the watches to see what fits your style, look, and most importantly wrist best.
Can’t go wrong with a speedmaster. Everyone should own one at some point. Go with the original
IWC Port auto 7 day!
Take your time with this decision and find something you really love. Omega Aqua Terra is a great and versatile choice, as is an IWC Portugueser. Like some others mention there are other great options at those price points like JLC and Zenith.
It doesn’t matter what others think as long as it’s something that really speaks to you.
Rolex is also in your price range for a few models if you are going tp use all your budget
Nothing wrong with a Tissot
I would say is for omega, I’d consider used, hefty depreciation. Bought my speedie secondhand for ~$3k, and it was essentially brand new. Portuguese Chrono seems to settle around $5k used.
With a 10K budget you could get the iconic IWC Big Pilot. In the Omega I like Globemaster
Omega rail master or IWC pilot chronograph if you want leather strap. If you want bracelet then I agree you won’t go wrong with a seamaster.
I’d rather buy a JLC in that price range. The “watchmakers’ watchmaker”
