I'm having a hard time discerning what is better in the long run for compensation.

Front office investment banking (where salary comp is lower for x amount of time but could balloon to the highest at time y)
Analytics or Cloud (where comp is higher or equal for x period and is potentially easier to stay in past time y)
Strategy (or other highly paid) consulting (where I can't really discern it from IB other than from a skills/subject matter perspective)

Could someone please share an opinion?

Every time I go on LinkedIn lately it’s a full cringefest. People are taking this “look how vulnerable I can be” thing way too far. It’s embarrassing… posting selfie’s of them crying because they got laid off and begging for jobs… am I missing something?? Go APPLY TO JOBS LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. I was laid off and immediately started job searching, I didn’t post a pity party pic or a long statement on LinkedIn… personally, I wouldn’t hire someone like that or wouldn’t want to… but that’s just me.

I was offered a part time Internal Audit Sox Lead role for $70/hour. It’s a remote role, perm with benefits and I’m very excited for it. I may have made a mistake. Early this year I was supposed to do something for a partner. Low-risk stuff, but three total steps. First step took a lot of waiting around for the state to finalize. State finally finalized it end of June. But during all that time, I completely switched my practice group and I had forgotten about this. This randomly came up today, and partner said she will call client for clarification. I haven’t worked with this group for months.
