Jason Peterson’s “Employee of the Month” stunt is peak #whitemale. Grow up dude. Don’t you have an Instagram account to curate? I mean, an agency to run??

He’s literally posting all the responses from people who “agree” with his tactics on his instagram as if that’s validation he did the right thing. An echo chamber is not an audience. And you’re a leader dude...How is it possible you think this is an appropriate way to act? I think about people I’ve met and respect and have ACTUALLY changed this industry - especially bless his heart, the nicest man on earth David Kennedy...this is the exact opposite of the way they’d behave. And ps: the reason everyone is anonymously complaining on fishbowl is clearly they don’t feel safe to do so in person. We’re seeing all kinds of examples this week of how people try to be brave and speak up and they only get mocked instead. Everyone from our trash bag president to this blip on the map jerk at Havas. Leading with an iron fist and a fragile ego has rarely resulted in anything positive. I feel bad for everyone at havas, what a toxic environment. And what a mess for our industry, I thought we were at least pretending to be better than this.

The propagandist spin that leadership is putting on this frightens me. Nobody is “cyber bullying” Jason or his clique. This is a hostile atmosphere where speaking against the fearless leader or his inner circle in the open gets you exiled. If you don’t work within his “kid with and iPhone” mantra, you’re as good as dead to him. New business pitches “kid with an iPhone” to all the clients then sticks traditional teams on them. To them this means, “we’re cheap, we’re good, and we’re fast.” To the people who get stuck on these teams it means, under staffed, under paid, over worked. But please, come here. And fucking love it. It’s great. I swear.

It’s havas telling their employees that they don’t care if they’re unhappy.

Yeah I think that’s what they call a hostile work environment.

He’s the perfect Creative for the Trump era. I’d like to say he’s gonna get the boot ... but he’ll probably be promoted. Gross.

“yikes.” -advertising

So petty. By any chance did he leave a list of recruiters email addresses in agencies across nyc?

He zoomed in on that “I’m embarrassed to work here” post...I’m embarrassed to be in the industry with that guy and I don’t even work at Havas. I hope he sees this.

Seriously, what ceo would see that and think, “yep, the creative department seems to be doing just fine."

Is this in their lobby?? Can you imagine a client coming in?

Sorry OP, but this is nothing about white males. This guy is a full grown child. Pitching a tantrum

Man, if he’s not careful, they’re going to lose the Lobby account - it’s their biggest client.

On one hand it’s absolutely telling that this is their reaction. Rather than trying to figure out what the issues are and fixing them, he turns it into an art project. On the other hand that’s exactly what we do for a living.

What a thoughtful guy

SD2, I’m in the Havas Company bowl and I can openly say these comments represent a small fraction of the content in our bowl, and were reported and ultimately taken down by the very same employees Jason is excoriating. There was ample opportunity for Jason to keep the dialogue “in the family” as it appears other companies like Ogilvy are doing. But he chose to go public and demean us instead. This is absolutely unacceptable and the fact he’s doubling down on IG only tells his employees where his core interests lie: his own public perception and not the integrity of Havas. He should step down immediately.

Maybe Kanye was hired as new Chief Creative Executive Creative Director and this was his contribution

“We assume you love working at havas but if you are not happy in your role, you don’t have to continue feeling that way. Conversely, if we see that this is not your jam, we are going to raise this with you.” Wow. Such hostility. Such man-baby fragility. Leadership by hissy fit.

By the way, I was just reported for abuse for calling Havas ceo an “ultra-bro” Wow.

This guy is not fully baked. What a stupid stunt to pull on your own people.

God this tool needs to be slapped in the brain.

What’s funny is that recently leaving havas, I HAVE had to explain this shit to recruiters. Luckily they are understanding.

Go look at his Instagram story to see pics of specific posts from the wall. He’s printed out a homophobic slur directed at an employee, and put it on the wall of the agency. How is this not an immediately fireable offense?

I am in a dilemma in deciding between boutique opportunity and waiting for MBB interviews. I have received a corporate consulting offer with ok pay, amazing work life balance and high quality colleagues (Almost all MBB) but the title is not high from Country A I am interviewing for final round at MBB in Country B (high compensation and low tax)-they have a hard time scheduling interviews because they are very busy (even after I told them I have offers) I am interviewing for the first round at MB

What’s the correlation between compensation & happiness? I have never been a very happy person (depressed from time to time) and my comp is only 150k. What compensation do I need to reach so that I can become immediately happy? 200k, 300k, 500k?

Leaving NYC for Austin soon. What’s the best car I can get, new or used, for $25k? I’ll likely only be in Austin for 2 years before I leave for another job or an MBA, so something that’s friendly for first time drivers and has a decent resale value (or can be used by my parents) is a plus.

Are you incoming staff 1? What’s your starting salary for your city and service line? I’m really skeptical that firms will be paying those of us that progressed less than incoming staff just out of my own experience where I came in as staff 1 earning more than the staff 2 when I started for the same service line.

Hey guys, which country/city are you’ll booking H1-B visa stamp appointment dates? Are you getting any appointments for this year?

Do you think sprint oriented development - where you ship features every two weeks - is the best type of dev culture?

Anyone take CISM? Similar difficulty to CISA?

I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.

A partner asked me if I was planning on having a 2nd child. We are a small, close firm, so it wasn’t a weird question for us. I told him no, and that it had to do with my husband’s age/health (47 with multiple health issues, I’m 32.) But the real reason is that, while I love my firm, and though it’s clear the partners want to believe they are family-friendly, I felt completely unsupported as a mother once my son was no longer a newborn. Has anyone heard anything about the full time MBA program at UF? I simply want a respectable degree to work in industry in Florida after b4 tech consulting - appreciate any insight
