Jeep Compass vs VW Tiguan - thoughts? Need a cheap/mid SUV, it’s for me only but something heftier than a sedan.

Don't recommend the Compass at all. VWs just drive nice and are more refined.. also like the fact that VWs only need servicing every 10k miles.. you have some nice options around that price point ..the newly redesigned Rogue is quite nice.. also check out the Subaru Forester or the Outback ..

I’ll probably get hate for this, but for me, in general American cars are at the bottom of the pile, then French / British / mid price Italian, then South Korean, and at the top Japanese, German, and high end Italian. I’m into cars and think it holds true over many car brands and products. This is based on my perception of design, performance / joy of driving, mileage, long run durability, resale value.

Love my mew Tiguan so far.

Tiguan!!! I’ve had both. Used to love Jeeps but I cannot wait to get rid of this one and go back to the Tiguan. Jeep has gone down hill massively.

I know nothing about the VW, but the Jeep Compass felt soooo cheaply made when I tested it 5 years ago. We ended up going Nissan Rogue and have been happy. The Mazda CX-5 was better than the Compass as well. Not sure if the Compass has gotten better though.

I drove a Rogue on a road trip once and it was one of the worst rides I’ve experienced for a fairly new car.

My fiancé’s Tiguan is dope. It’s some special sporty edition that’s black in what I understand are unusual places. It’s a smooth drive, high quality, and just looks really nice if you’re into that.

Tiguan - I hear the newer model is improved inside out.

Tiguan. I traded in my compass for the 21 Tiguan and it’s so much nicer. It has the same functionality and capabilities and then some and feels higher quality. Definitely recommend the R-Line in the Tiguan

Niether. Get a Mazda CX-5! Im a proud owner of one 🚗

M1 - Mazdas are a driver's car.. super fun to drive and well made.. they always lose out in the practicality/functional aspects with the competition

Is it really?.... I never drove one but I hear they’re making an in-line 6 engine to be released in 2023 but that’s a while from now

Toyota RAV4?

You need to test drive them, ideally for a weekend and decide for yourself. I did not like VW at all, went for Jeep Cherokee which felt more comfortable for long journeys.

I opted for a Honda CRV.

Struggling with my husband about his pot smoking. Long story short, he's always been a pot smoker (not during the business hours, but before and after work). Before we had the baby, Ive made it very clear that I dont want him smoking weed so frequently. I understand wanting to unwind before dinner/bed time, but I believe smoking several times a day is unhealthy. We have a 2 months old baby now, and during his paternity leave, he smoked several times a day and napped w. Baby. Continued-

I feel trapped. We work hard, break glass ceilings, put in all the blood, sweat and tears needed to "make it". Usually twice as fast, with a babe on a hip - cooking, running a call. I'm over 50, solo and a parent & over the rat race. I've been putting out feelers and feeling the over 50 burn. I don't need to lead the world - a small piece would be nice, ok money. Fun people, easy roll, smart work, build smart people - cool teams. I get "you'll be bored here - we can't afford you". What2do?

In July I missed my promo to SM. A woman has been preferred even if she was underqualified (my MD's words), as at Accenture we have quotas for women. I'm interviewing with Deloitte, they told me I'll help building the practice. In the meantime I was assured by my MD that in December I'll get the promo. I don't really care changing company, even if I've built a network, I don't think I need to wait if I can. Your thoughts?
