I had a recruiter reach out to me from Google 3 years ago about a role she thought I would be good for. She really advocated for me to be in the role but the hiring managers didn’t feel like I was qualified.
We had a discussion and she gave me a lot of good feedback on how I could be a stronger candidate and encouraged me to reach out to her directly for future opportunities. Fast forward to now, I’ve gained a lot of experience and skills. Should I reach out even though it’s been 3 years?
Any Fish who are also musicians?

We Indians carry so much preset beliefs and cultural barriers in our minds. It’s just the way we grew up & how we are taught. It’s so much weight man that we carry all through our lives with these false beliefs.
Most of us carry those preset notions in the name of culture for rest of our lives irrespective of where we are today. I have come across many so called progressive Indian friends & family who refuse to get over these preset beliefs when it comes to their own family. They can Treat the women in their own family poorly or under look them while advocating for women’s rights elsewhere. Many are homophobic.. but why? How does it matter who you love or sleep with? Love is love. I fail again & again to understand how to change these beliefs.
There should be equal focus on unlearning those things that are taught to us that don’t add any value to our lives today. Until we do that, things won’t get any better
First thing to unlearn females should stop moving to their husband’s home after marriage. They should live either in independent household or have both set of parents around them
Education is the only solution. The budget should be increased to the maximum extent in education sector.

Agree! We have so many who call themselves progressives but not even close
I have never understood violence perpetrated by family! No matter how much I try, I just can’t wrap my head around it. Strangers acting this way still makes sense, but your own father?

This cancer on society needs to be stopped.
But what is the solution? Education for women? Stricter laws? Police reform?

There is no single band aid to the problem. It will only change with generations. Teach your kids to be better people and don’t teach them any of these so called cultural beliefs that you were taught that don’t add any value to their lives

There is a Vice documentary about the Kohistan case. Watch it. Can’t believe people can kill their own daughters and sons of other people just for singing and dancing in a wedding.

Thanks for not putting a trigger warning OP 😡 And how is this consulting related! Jeez!
Ugh K2. People are so sensitive nowadays. Wtf is trigger warning? 🙄
People like this guy in question seem to be indoctrinated based on caste, religion, region whatever narrrow mindedness he subscribes too. The solution is to step out of Rishikesh county once in a while and venture into Bangalore county. In other words, folks should not fall prey to kupa-manduk mentality.
My observation: Honor killings never happen to son child

They often do, not by his own family but by family of the girl

Why would it stop? Depending on the caste/religion of the father and the caste/religion of the boy, the father will get immunity from the media or from the state
