Wfh is vastly superior imo. I’m very content going into the office once every 2 weeks or so to say hi to the team

I say hi to my team everyday…on MS Teams 🤷🏼‍♂️

I’m going to start going in a few days a week post 9/15 … I’m sick of WFH and need some variety in my life

like

I’m jealous… we got to work from home for exactly 5 weeks. Been back in the office since May. May -2020-

like

Why do you stay? Are there any upsides?

Then go into the office

like

What’s stopping you from going to the office? Leave the people who have families and friends outside work alone.

You’re one of those weirdos huh

like

I dunno, the vaccine mandates from Deloitte and KPMG make me think they aren't hoping to further delay the return to the office...I bet the firms don't make any official, firm-wide announcements so that each region/office can do as much as they want

like

I’m so happy

We usually lag 2-3 weeks from their announcement, so hears hoping we all get to extend out.

Nothing is stopping you from going to the office. You’ve pretty much been free to go in anytime you wanted to throughout the pandemic.

Go to the office. It's not empty. There are plenty of people that are bored at home.

Attention legal recruiters (agency or in-house). I am a top performing NYC based legal recruiter focusing on placing associates and partners with AmLaw 25 firms. I am seeking to add to my team - open to speaking to anyone who has recruited legal before in any capacity. In addition to having an inside track with a Tier 1 client base, I offer above market fee splits to my members of my team. NYC ideal, but open to remote options for the right fit. I’m a pretty anxious person and I’ve realized that a remote work environment only makes me more so - not being able to read people’s tone well, email/ping responses being more delayed than they would be in a conversation, the awkwardness of virtual meetings, etc. I’m in therapy and will discuss this there but would love to hear some tips about how people manage work anxiety specifically in a remote consulting environment.

Have now worked entirely remote for over a year after having only worked in an office for a few months. It’s my normal and I’m far more productive and available from home than in an office. Anyone know of good companies or law firms that have embraced a permanent remote working model now?? If they’re remote but location dependent, I’m in the Chicago market.

By close of eyes is not a reasonable time for any deliverable to be due. You work from home not 24/7. Let’s normalize standard working hours; if work isn’t done within eight to nine hours in day then it’s time for evaluate systems, if all those Zoom calls were necessary and staff utilization.

Have an offer on the table at a startup that’s $35K more than current big 4 salary for a Senior Manager role. Benefits package is very comparable (401k match, healthcare costs, fringe stipends for WFH). Startup has been around for 5+ years and has secured a solid, 9 figures of investor dollars. Is it worth the move and having to leave my extremely secure “network” and role at a Big 4?

Do you think post-covid that companies will ever keep their tech employees in NYC? I’m a software engineer for a financial company and already am probably one of the last people to RTO if/when that happens. But now I’m thinking that this situation has proven that they don’t need to take on the costs of having SWEs in a HCOL city if all of us can WFH/work from a LCOL city with same results. Kinda bummed bc I’m a new hire and I never even got to move there... should I lower my expectations?

Hi y’all. I’m trying to plan my future. My goal in the next several years is to exit to general corporate strategy (unless something better comes up). Right now I’m aligned vertically and horizontally (strategy + a specialized field). If I stay where I am geographically it may be hard to stay in my current industry once I exit. So the question becomes, can I exit to an industry outside of what I’m currently consulting for or should I reposition myself within Accenture to be more of a generalist.
