What do you do if you feel stuck in your career?
Hi fishes! I had asked for benefits other than CTC which Bank of America provides & now that I've completed 1 month here, here's the list of allowances you'll be getting irrespective of position/band:
1. Sodexo: 1300 p.m./ 15,600 p.a.
2. Transport allowance: 900 one way, 1800 two ways p.m./ 21,600 p.a.
3. Internet: 1500 max p.m. (other than that, one time installation charges)
4. Tuition fee: Any certification related to your field. Like CFA, FRM etc. 3,00,000 p.a.

Depends on what your long term goals are. Sounds like job A is a cushy job but it will likely be hard to transition out of due to the specialized and back office nature but if you see yourself doing something similar in the long term, then sounds like you’re set.
Job B sounds like it has more transferable skills, i.e, managerial experience and front office. You also mentioned there seems to be more room to grow. If you like the role, great. If not, you would probably have an easier time finding a new job vs. job A but would obviously have to endure the longer hours and high stress in the meantime.
Job A no questions. Not big enough of a bump to justify leaving JPM
I agree! It doesn't justify all the extra headaches for a new job.
I think I would personally also take A. If getting to ED eventually becomes an issue, you can apply elsewhere, but I think the great learning, a chill boss, and good hours are huge perks of job A compared to B. Even just observing the tone of how you wrote them suggests that you already know job A is the better option. Maybe I’m wrong, but that’s what it seems like. Either way congrats b/c it sounds like your career is heading in a nice direction!
Right. If same pay, it’s job A 100%. I guess I was unknowingly trying to put a price tag on all the extra “challenges” at Job B.

Definitely job A. It isn't necessary to overwork yourself for 25k more. You can offer some services at that time and make even more than 25k.
JOB B
- SVP in an agency, so more client facing
- 4-8 direct + indirect reports, so day-to-day is more managerial
- ~230k TC
- Unlimited PTO but expect to work 50 hrs including some traveling once every couple month
- Not much learning opportunities, somewhat boring tasks
- Average colleagues, some harder tasks will require many rounds of hand-holding your direct reports
- A hands-on culture, the new boss will like to oversee the work especially on important projects
- somewhat a high stress and very deadline driven environment
- better growth opportunities for titles and comps, basically a guaranteed ED promotion in 3-4 years if you keep doing good work. No peer competition currently.
If you can somewhat be certain of ED promotion go for it!
What if JOB A, two days on site per week while JOB B is 100% remote.
Anyone would change their choice based on this?
But JOB B is more stressful by nature even though it’s WFH.
Came across a …should you quit your job quiz?…
