What are some things that make a candidate stand out when presenting design projects during an interview?

I got turned down for three mid level design positions. I don’t know if it’s because my last position was as an art director and they’re just confused or if I seem not as enthusiastic about the role as I should be but it’s definitely disheartening because I’m unemployed and I need to get back to work. I have since decided to focus more on senior designer and Art Director roles at a higher rate and will go from there.

I am talking to someone at Adobe for a sr ux designer role based in Bay Area. Does anyone have insight into the culture at Adobe, or comp band I should shoot for?

1. What was the breakpoint for design
2. Did you design the components and design system?
3. How was your handoff to developers (I've never one that)
4. Wht was the most challenging part of this project.
5. What is something you would re-design if you were to go back.

Thoughts on using a “design test” as part of interview process (especially unpaid)? And how to get out of it, without taking yourself out of the running?

UX and UI are not interchangeable terms, or even adjacent disciplines. Those of you who use "UX/UI" to describe your role, is it just that you're a hybrid/unicorn, or do you not know the difference?
