Any ladies purchase their dream home while single? I’ve been holding off from buying my dream home thinking I’d wait until I had an SO to share this significant expense- however, I’m getting tired of holding off and I’m in a position to buy. I have emergency funds but chicken out at the thought of taking on a large mortgage solo if things were to go south. Anyone take the plunge and regretted it? Or did you wish you had done it sooner?

6 years ago, I started my professional career.
5 years ago, I co-founded a company and moved to the US for my Master’s thus working and studying simultaneously.
3 years ago, I left my company, graduated and started looking for a job. Got hired for a $75k per/y salary.
It's been 3 years, and my current salary is $79k, whereas recent graduates now earn $160+ for the same position.

Recently got a non-front office offer from Citi in NY. The base is decent but I was quite surprised by how low the variable comp is vs other banks. Almost no upside opportunity (stock options, warrants). Is this common for universal money center banks?

I’m a little over a year into my first job and I can’t stand it. I want to move into a startup company or at least a smaller tech company, but I feel like I have spent the past year talking with clients and presenting, and not learning any new technologies or building any hard skills. With a year of experience after college, and that year being in a role that focuses mainly on soft skills, what jobs should I be looking out for when applying? I’ve been trying to get into The Walt Disney Company for years and can’t seem to make any progress. I’ve tried introducing myself and connecting with recruiters on LinkedIn and of course, applying to jobs on their site. Would anyone happen to have any words of advice for someone trying to transition from the ad industry into the entertainment industry?

Anyone familiar with SAG-AFTRA rules? If we’re on distant location, and it’s a 6-day work week. Is the 6th day paid at a premium rate?
