Coming from a technical background, I am looking to understand the business side of things in consulting, the bid process, rfc, rfq etc.

What resources would you suggest besides the usual company provided resources?

PS: I understand this can vary from company to company but looking for a start.

Our back to school meetings going over the data that we also went over at the end of last year, lol. Don’t get me wrong though, I love data.

For my fellow women with ADHD:
Do you notice that your crash points are during your menstrual cycle? I have depression too so the hormone changes really affect me and I am an emotional wreck/bi-polar (beyond what is normal PMS type behavior). I am a healthcare executive and it is affecting work relationship and meds aren’t helping (depression nor ADHD meds). I just feel very defeated and don’t know what to do. I hate my brain 🥴

I've been working at a government agency for 6 months, helping to stand up a new team. The job involves interacting with real estate developers. One of the developers reached out to recruit me for a similar position that will pay more than $50k my current salary. I feel guilty, especially since I'd interact with my current team on the other side. It's a hard to turn down that salary, though I feel guilty since my team is thin, and it's only been 6 months!

Any tips on navigating this situation?

Has anyone got the PDF version of the PMBOK - sixth edition and would be willing to send it to me?

How do you know your true worth? And once you know, how do you make sure you get it?

I am on a team that manages relationships with the banks that hold brokerage accounts for a large Asset Management firm. I have gained an enormous amount of experience (relationship mgmt, project mgmt, analysis), and compensation is decent - $85k base with $25k bonus - but I have no idea what my top earning potential would be if I switched companies or pursued another role. What is the best way to find out?

Is anyone hearing chatter in banks/FIs about recessionary job cuts or hiring freezes yet?

I graduated with my MBA in finance in 2020 and began working at a bank as a Management Trainee. 2 years later, I am an assistant to a financial advisor studying to become a financial advisor. However, I have to do this on MY time and not the bank's.
I am not in a Management position, I make as much as a teacher in a good district and I just don't feel my overall self worth at this job. Does anyone have any advice that can help this situation?

I'm the only employee with a background in finance in a tech startup growing at a 300%+ per year. But it's actually my first finance-related experience (interned and now part-time as I'm in my senior year of undergrad) and don't know really how to have an impact as my knowledge is "limited" and have no technical mentorship.

Any advice/mentorship would be wonderful!

How's SVB doing? Is there a hiring freeze?

Is IB worth the sacrifice of WLB? Obvious pay is really good but are the prestige and pay worth it if you’re planning on only doing it for a couple years?

Currently working at an IRA with great WLB. Honestly I love my job, the firm, and people I work with.

Also doing MBA part time at a T15 school. Thinking about switching to IB but I’ve done my research and I think I would burn out of IB in two years but I might be ok with that for the opportunities after.

Hi All,

Feeling particularly burnt out in my
current role (senior, fund accounting) and
looking to make a career change. I'm
lined up for a promotion to AM in April
but I know that my WLB will be even
worse when that happens. I've been
looking at financial/investment analysis
roles in other companies but haven't had
a ton of luck yet. Can anyone help me out
with a referral, or just recommend
potential companies to look into? Ideally
looking for pay at 90k+ with solid
benefits. TIA

Recruiter asked for proof of my last bonus to determine sign-on… I’m not being dishonest with my request (only asking to be made whole for the bonus money I’ll be leaving on the table at my current employer) and this sounds kinda illegal based on NY’s salary history ban- is it?

Hi all! I got rejected from JPMorgan for their Global Finance and Business Management program (through my resume, couldn’t make it to interview). However, I’d reached out to recruiters and am meeting with one in a couple of days! Do I have a shot at turning this around? Or will it not matter once she learns I was rejected. Thanks!

Hey folks! Does anyone know anything about the culture at Envestnet? I saw a role pop up for a senior strategy position on their in house team. Curious to hear what people have heard (or experienced) about the company culture, pay/benefits, and what they might be looking for.

I am looking for an entry investment banking analyst role in the NYC area. I am ready to work and do the necessary to get in the role. I am willing to give my net bonus to whomever helps me get in.
