Joined Big4 consulting 11 months ago, was promoted to Senior last month, but feeling frustrated & underworked on a project I'm staffed FT since Aug. I'm an experienced hire at 27, so I want to be more active on engagements to be able to advance. Can't roll off as partner said there are no backfills & utilization targets to meet. I frequently ask project leads for more tasks but rarely receive any responses, so I occasionally reach out to my previous EM to work with them in a limited capacity.

How long does it take for Infosys limited to allocate project to new joiners

Serious billing question - if during the course of the day, you first receive an email from Client A at say 11:10am and you read it, you then respond to it at 12:20pm. You get another email at 2pm from Client A and respond immediately. The next email comes in at 4pm, you read it and respond only at 4:30pm. None of the email responses take more than 3-5mins. You are working on matters for other clients at all other times during the day. How much are you billing for Client A?

What is the most useful technical or soft skills for any mechanical engineer to have where you work? I’m curious to know what really matters for everyone and what makes a big impact on the team and business.

Specifics if you can; CAD tools, simulation, CAD speed or proficiency, industry or standards knowledge, GD&T, certifications, Microsoft Excel, presentation skills, technical writing, project management, self organization, great communication, teaching ability, relationship building, etc.

Junior here. How common is it to be nudged off a brief when you can't get ideas through internally? My partner and I are often put on the same briefs as more experienced (sometimes senior) teams. As a result, their work tends to make it through to the client presentation while most of ours dies somewhere along the way from CD to CCO. Is this worth worrying over?

How does it feel to earn less than US Consultants while also struggling for utilization

I was interviewed for Angular. In JD it was mentioned Angular + Node.
I was told it's a second shift project, with MEAN technology stack.
Client is AT&T.

What to do if your SM is not competent and you feel project is falling behind? Can't really go to MD bc he has relationship with the SM. Also doesn't sound good coming from a consultant. Do I just need to work extra harder?

One of the company asked if i could join as early as in 1.5/2 months where I have 3 months NP and haven't put papers yet .. i asked one of my senior in my team about this who's already resigning...and she has told about this to the entire team 😶. I realise it's my mistake asking her :p

all those who have joinings in coming months in Tcs, think twice before joining. i m itself a victim. forcefull wfo is the worst kind of thing here, no shift flexibility nothing, all project ppl asking 5 days- 9 hrs whichever I got call from....i bet if you have any other counter offers- better go with that. its been 7 months i joined & i resigned!

I currently work as an APM at a FAANG company but recently received an offer to join an MBB. I’m very excited about the role but didn’t realize I’d need to take a pay cut when I applied (~100k base + ~20k bonus + ~60k equity vs. 90k base + 10-20k bonus). Hi everyone! Idk if I need advice or I’m venting but I’ve been looking for jobs actively right now and want to make a switch soon. There’s a gap in terms or compensation for the jobs I’m being approached for. These jobs offer the same compensation I’m at or slightly higher (5-7%). This is demotivating and I honestly don’t know what to do. I don’t make an awful lot (105K in NYC) and I’m looking for a 20-30% bump in terms of compensation. Am I crazy here?
