Almost 3 years in now and still doing work I don’t like. The softer experience e.g client management, producing quality, leadership is the only reason I’m not miserable. The problem with fun/sexy work is that it doesn’t bring in the kind of revenue that EY is looking for
I love how this is generally an issue at EY. We love being an auditor
Entry level positions anywhere are non fulfilling grunt work. Takes about 3-5 years before you start to find meaningful work. Biggest piece of advice though is to know what meaningful work is to you.
E1 - it actually does, it just requires investment that the firm and culture isn't willing to make because people are scared of their jobs
Spent 2 years at PwC doing work I didn’t like while giving it my best. Switched to deloitte and it started to “click” for me
Doing change management right now
Good advice D2
In the same boat OP - waiting for it to 'click'
What work specifically D1?
Cybersecutity now, was doing financial and program management at PwC. Back to using my background and degree now
When I got laid off and taking up unemployment - that’s when it clicked and realize I have to work seriously and love my job that pay my bill
OP, do you happen to be a tester/developer? Reason I ask is that many folks I meet at EY are either of those.
