I was laid off during Deloitte‘s mass layoff in July of last year. I have worked as an independent contractor since and projects haven’t been consistent at the client I’m working for. I’m looking to get back into a big firm and was seeing if anyone would be able to refer me or help get my foot in the door. I was a business analyst for 1.5 years at Deloitte and have several years of additional experience which I’d be more than happy to share.

I think atleast one year, give the job a fair shot. While you should always look out for yourself you still want to build professional bridges, don't be so quick to burn new networks.
I think that I will burn network if I move after 6 months within the same city. But if a could somehow get the opportunity of a lifetime to have an international experience, then leaving should be more acceptable (I'm in my 30s, doubt there are many doors open).
The issues is what can I do to maximise my first year as an IT risk advisor? Which are the more juicy work that can be sold in other field?
Should you hire me next year, what story would you like to hear?

Paper stuff is easy (kind of) once you are wanted. But what can I do during my first year to became palatable?
How have been your first year and what will you change?
Do not be loyal. Your company would drop you without remorse if it became necessary. So what’s best for you and your future
