Joining IT RA in FS as analyst in my early 30s with no relevant working experience, wage €26k.
My gut tell me I will not like this job (I like more to do big dream, then building stuff). Yet, I accepted it because 1) brand, 2) getting close to FS.

Q1: How long should I stay to payback who invested into me?
Q2: What should I focus on to enlarge the exit option toward better paid work (strategy, investment)?
Q3: Moving abroad (UK) will boost wage compare to EU?

Should I be loyal or mercenary?

I think atleast one year, give the job a fair shot. While you should always look out for yourself you still want to build professional bridges, don't be so quick to burn new networks.

like

I think that I will burn network if I move after 6 months within the same city. But if a could somehow get the opportunity of a lifetime to have an international experience, then leaving should be more acceptable (I'm in my 30s, doubt there are many doors open).

The issues is what can I do to maximise my first year as an IT risk advisor? Which are the more juicy work that can be sold in other field?
Should you hire me next year, what story would you like to hear?

You will have to fight the countless other foreigners to enter UK. Uk is no longer a part of eu so hiring you vs hiring an international student with no experience is easier and cheaper now

like

Paper stuff is easy (kind of) once you are wanted. But what can I do during my first year to became palatable?
How have been your first year and what will you change?

Do not be loyal. Your company would drop you without remorse if it became necessary. So what’s best for you and your future

Tell me you work in Italy without telling me you are working in Italy lol

I failed CFA level 3 once.

I'm hoping to eventually do CAIA, but only after I'm done with CFA. I'm also hoping to do non-financial certifications, like Certified analytics professional (CAP), and learn about web development.

While I may have the title of manager, I am still an individual contributor. The type of work I do involves quantitative analysis/data analysis/science.

Any suggestions as to what I should start with?

Anyone have any idea when the hiring freeze might end within AWS ProServ? I’m currently at Amazon and have a TS clearance, PMP & CSM. I come from a Big4 consulting firm with a background in Enterprise Performance. I’ll be honest and say I’m not feeling very safe in my current role with the ongoing layoffs. Instead of leaving, I’d love to go back to my “consulting roots” and join the ProServ team. I’m taking my AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam next weekend. Hoping this freeze is lifted soon.

Do you lose unemployment benefits after you receive a job offer but before you start? I know it may vary by state, but haven't found anything specific (MA).

They ask if you have an offer, and I know looking for a job is a requirement to receive benefits, so wondering if saying I have an offer and no longer looking would disqualify me.
