As an EH? Sorry mate. The good news is all you need is PPT & Excel at your level. You can find YouTube videos or LinkedIn learning courses on DNet (Cura) to get up to speed.

Good insight, thank you!

Has anyone made the move from a modern vehicle to buying something older and less practical due to their decreased commute or need for a vehicle due to covid? If so, what’d you get and are you happy with the decision?

What's the deal with PTO, holidays, and utilization?

While majority of the people here hate the travel aspect of consulting. Anyone out there who actually loves it and have been to some amazing places for work? Experiences??

Something isn’t quite adding up for me, though I haven’t been in consulting long so it may be my ignorance. People say MBB has great exit opps, but none of the “sexy” ones thrown around (e.g., PE, PM) directly translate from consulting, and the those that do (internal consulting / corp strat) aren’t met with much enthusiasm. What am I missing?

Going through an interview process with MS Amlin on their Lloyd’s market business change side at present. Any comments either positive or negative?

I’m seeing so many nice affordable rents in Midtown, what’s the catch? Everyone tells me midtown is boring/no culture. Is this true?

New to FDD from audit. Any advice on getting utilization up? Frequently bouncing around on a deal two days at a time. Have the skill and talent to do great work, just need to show it

Has anyone ever shit their pants at work or on the way to/from work? I’ll go first... Was on my way to my buddy’s place for post-work dranks when I got the sudden urge to poo. Stuck in rush hour traffic I started sweating. Fast food places were not allowing people inside (only drive thru during peak covid) so I drove around looking for bush to shit in. Found a house with no lights on and nice bushes out front and pulled over. (Cont’d in comments)

Trying to buy a house. Didnt prequalify for mortgage loan from chase - their credit score requirements have become stringent because of covid. Mine is 680. They need 700 min. Any other banks that might have more lax reqs? Any experiences folks can share?

over my holidays I found that my anxiety significantly lowered. tonight (before Monday travel), I’m experiencing intense anxiety and worrying about everything. whenever I’m at work I experience this

I get there is no such thing as optimal 401k contribution as it varies by person but is 20% too much for someone just starting out? No ROTH offered

Does anyone have any study tips or can suggest a helpful study tool for the HRCI SPHR exam? I used BenchPrepHR to help me prep and took a few practice test. I took my exam last week and unfortunately did not pass. Any tips would be helpful to help me prepare to retake in a few months.

How do you all recommend getting a referral to MBB and preparing for interviews? I’m looking at putting a serious effort into this as a potential lateral pre-mba hire.

Currently with Hilton, should I try to get status on Marriott or SPG too?

CDC has advised against gathering of more than 10 people for at least 8 weeks: does this mean our mandated wfh is going to stay at least till then? Not complaining just curious. 8wks - May 1st week

Was forced out of a firm after more than a decade last year. Started my own law firm. Today I got a new client who called my old firm and fired one of my ex colleagues to come with me and told them they were coming to my firm. The colleague and I were close, but this is business and I don’t feel bad. Although I have been acquiring unhappy clients of my old firm for a while now, this was the first who was on a current retainer with the former firm. Life is much better on my own. :)

I’m a data scientist getting around 160k total comp at a big 4 consulting firm, with 150k base. A FAANG is offering me 188.5k total (135k base + 40k stocks + 13.5k bonus). The FAANG is a much better name especially in my field, but I feel like the base comp is significantly lower?
