How is attrition/relative happiness at the MBBs compared to Big 4/the rest nowadays? It seems as though the lion’s share of complaint posts on here and Reddit come from Big 4 consultants, specifically around the topics of attrition and issues with their firms, teams, or projects. Does MBB seem quieter because it’s better there, or are the disgruntled MBBers just not as loud as Big 4 folks? McKinsey & Company Boston Consulting Group Bain & Company
Looking into staying in London after my diplomatic assignment is up, ideally with MBB or a boutique firm at the AP level, preferably TC above £ 220k. Is this a reasonable expectation for someone with 17 yoe and multiple countries/roles? I know comps are lower in the UK then in the US, but surely partners at these firms are still bringing in £500k plus right? Bain & Company Boston Consulting Group McKinsey & Company
Is the MBB Sponsored MBA worth it? Hi I’m going to be working full-time at an MBB soon and have been thinking about pursuing an MBA in ~3 years. If I can continue receiving promotions, is the opportunity cost worth it? Is it better to leave MBB after those 2-3 into an industry role? Also, is it too ambitious to say I want to earn $1MM/YR? Would exiting to industry be a faster way to do it than consulting? Thanks McKinsey & Company Bain & Company Boston Consulting Group

Wtf are DD cases only 2-3 weeks long?
Yeah was asked to do a 3-month rotation on a strike team - but no definitely not forced to stay. Alternatively there’s so much PE work that once you get good experience and make a good impression people want to keep staffing you and it’s a vicious cycle of more you do the more experience you have and harder to break out without upsetting the sponsors

we don’t lock any junior folks into a practice unless they explicitly want to, and even then they are encouraged to at least try other things for PIPE ringfence rotations, you sign up for 3-4 month and have the option to extend if you want
We allow both rotations of 3ish months on our PIPE ring fence with the option to extend for more experienced members (as mentioned by my colleague), as well as the ability to do one-off diligences if your availability and skill set aligns to the opportunity.
Also wonder if anyone is available to chat - I will really really appreciate

At Bain it’s typically a 6 month commitment. If you really hate it or are struggling staffing could still pull you out. Not uncommon for people to do longer stints if they like it and/or are good at it. As someone else mentioned, PEG is a skill, and once you get good at it the team doesn’t want to lose you.
