Yes but I caution you to take on debt right now
I’m counting on some scholarships (if I get any) and my savings. More concerned about the market after graduation.

Only if you get into NYU or Georgetown and plan on doing well there or went to a very good JD program at which you did well. Otherwise you'll probably wind up in B4, which isn't bad either. And only get the tax llm if you want to do tax. If you want to be a corporate lawyer, I don't think it will help much.

I disagree that a tax llm doesn’t help much if you want to be a corporate lawyer. I have a tax llm from Georgetown and 5 years into practice as a corporate attorney (after 2 years in tax), I couldn’t be more grateful that I can understand/follow what my tax colleagues are saying when they speak to my clients about structuring. It helps me immensely in terms of being a well-rounded, competent corporate attorney. And, I view it as a significant leg up among associates as well - those who understand tax are much more likely to “get it” when it comes to corporate practice.
Yes, but make sure you like tax.
Do you like Tax? Have you taken a tax class or worked in a tax role?
I had a few tax classes. I’d say I’m interested in the subject. But haven’t had the chance to work on tax related matters.
Seconding what others have said. Make SURE you like tax... I spent 4 years of practice and 3 years of part-time LLM work struggling through the IRC before realizing it was the wrong type of work for me.

It’s super interesting info. Now that I understand it it’s so much easier for me to manage my energy. Good luck!
