Just 2 years out of college and I really want to create my own start up but don't know where/how to start. I figure I need a mentor but I don't even know where to get one. I feel completely disillusioned with consulting and having to deal with asinine politics. I see so many intelligent people wasting their potential in a system that rewards sycophancy and con artistry, I'm afraid to become one. Is this just consulting or am I waking up to the reality of how the professional world works?

So I’m currently a Sr. PM at Amazon and I’m wondering if I would be a higher or lower level title at a startup? I assume I should be a higher title (like Director or VP) since I’d be moving from a huge company to a tiny one. But other folks have mentioned that I should actually be looking for a lower level title (like PM) since the scope at a smaller company would be more broad. I’m a bit confused on this and appreciate any advice.

Child of immigrants here - my parents worked very hard to provide for my education and for that I am very grateful. But they also put a lot of pressure on me growing up to study and eventually to grow up to provide for my family. In part as a result I developed severe anxiety and depression in law school. How long off on internship does everyone move on to find new jobs? I’m in my internship for around 6 months now and I don’t know if I should just move on.

Is the CPA designation worth it? For me it would take me 1 year of PREP courses and 2 years of PEP until i can write the CFE. And I am 27 years old right now. Also wondering if it would be crazy to pursue the CPA while learning how to code to be a developer as well?

How do you determine which contract to sell when you have multiple contracts of the same stock? For example i have multiple contracts with various strikes and expiration dates on FB and wanted to take some profits and cut losses on some. Some I bought a few weeks ago so they were more expensive then some of others.
