Coach
I heard you must understand ins and outs of insider trading to climb at M
It's hard not to get a return offer as an intern tbh
Coach
Just be likable and learn quickly and you’ll be fine
I heard they measure success in # of slides per day. Everything under 10 does not look good in the final review.
nice I will make sure to produce 69 slides a day then
The bar to convert to a full time offer is basically did you show up with a pulse
I hope you’ll hold yourself to a higher standard, but the bar is really almost nonexistent
Thanks! Yeah, seems like it’s harder to not get a return offer
Don't say anything dumb in front of a partner and you'll be fine
Lol yeah it’s extremely easy to get a return, almost guaranteed. Some tips though:
1) Be likeable and begin to develop repoire in the office/with partners. Always good to cultivate your brand early.
2) Learn how to leverage our supporting resources, and minimize the amount of time you spend in excel and ppt when possible (if you’re good at leveraging support services you can really cut dramatic amounts of time out of your analysis).
3) Get involved with an initiative outside of your study - try to be “that intern” that gets plugged in.
4) Try to siphon other top talent from your school to McK - if you acquire top talent for us you’ll be remembered for it by recruiting, and if you do it with your offices lead recruiting partner you’ll even carve out more executive reputation.
5) Set up informational interviews! Learn what different studies entail, and begin to “make your McKinsey”
