If the recruiter don’t respect your interest in not joining a sinking ship, you probably don’t want to work for that org.

Current employees rarely know as much as they think they do. You've read posts here, right?
No, I think that asking about negatives is important. You want to make an informed decision & it’s their job to help you do that.

I think the rule is that recruiters don’t matter 😀
Why would I not ask the recruiter about negatives? If they say there are none - its a big red flag from me
You shouldn't ask the recruiter any substantive questions. Either they don't know or will just give you some positive canned answers.
Only thing recruiters are good for is getting you in front of the hiring manager.
Don’t forget interviewing is a two-way process. The firm needs to convince you as much as you need to convince the firm. So ask whatever you want to.
I bet they have heard it all, but why on Earth would you ask a recruiter that question haha
Hopefully not 100%
recruiters may not hire but they are gate keepers. I probably would have delayed that ask until 2nd round, but it's not the end of the world.
I mean, talking like a consultant instead of a human by phrasing it that way was more likely to get you dinged
