Just backed out of a signed offer and I feel like shit. The new company was very delayed in issuing an offer letter (3 weeks from verbal) and approaching a month from background check. I missed kick off events and offered to visit happy hours, but they denied that request until after the start date (which had to be pushed back).

I feel I’m justified in reneging but the group lead did everything they could to recruit and move things along, so I feel bad. Here to vent.

If they can't get their s--- together to get you a start date and letter... What else would they be like? Cyas...!

I mean it's frustrating for sure, but hopefully you have something better in the pipeline. Was it a major company or a smaller place?

Major company - 70k employees globally. I have other options but I hate to pull my commitment.

Don’t make this decision of feeling bad. If they can’t even get an offer letter together in a month then imagine what other operational inefficiencies they probably have. Also, they may have still been shopping around before fully signing you, so don’t feel too bad. It’s just business.

Hi Fish
I saw a post about people looking for rental deals in Chicago.

My building is offering a promotion for anyone that's referred from a current resident. I get a discount credit on rent and you would get one month free, plus a $400 rental credit, plus a $500 Amazon gift card.

There's no move/out fees and rent varies from ~1600 to 2,000 depending if you want a studio, one-bed, or two-bed.

Hi fishes,
I got offer from CTS. But Hr is asking to provide form16 or pf statement for all my previous companies, else my background check will fail. Is it true?
I can provide these for my current company, but difficult to get for earlier ones, since it's been almost 10 yrs I have left them. I have written to hr of previous companies but no response yet.
I told CTS HR that I have experience letter, relieving letter, salary slips , bank statement, but she says it's not enough. Any thoughts pls?
